For financial and credit subject I was search for solutions at this site: LOANHUNTER.NET-
RE Not sure what I can do I owe over 40K in cc debit and can not pay it.?
I was divorced a year ago and and honestly went kind of nuts I am not sure where to turn. I stopped paying on them and now the calls have started. I do not own anything and currently am paying on my car. I can not file for bankrupcy because one of the credit account was a joint account. I need to repay this ASAP. But then need to try to pay for the bankrucy which I consulted a lawyer and was told I would need to come up 1800 more dollars. I need ideas as to what I can to to end all of this..

I don't know where you live, but if you're in the US, I suggest checking the phone book for your local Catholic Charities. They have credit counceling there and it's an excelent service. You'll get the payments lowered on your bills, they'll stop late payments and fees, and they can do some other things as well. Call them ASAP.
May I also suggest an extra job for a while? Retail might suck, but if you worked a retail job for 10 hrs a week, that would be a nice additional income to put towards bills. Companies like FedEx or UPS are good places to turn, too. You could easily pay down that debt with a job like one of those. Pay them off starting with the joint one. Then work on the smallest one that's left.... The sooner you can eliminate a payment the better it will be.
Can I also suggest looking at your spending and seeing what you 'waste' money on? Do you go to Starbucks daily? By the end of the month that's over $60 you could have put towards a bill. Eating out at fancy restaurants? Sure, eating at home is no fun, but the $20 you spend on dinner could be better put to use somewhere. Pack your lunch for work instead of buying one everyday and you'll save a ton. Do you really need to subscribe to the newspaper? etc.... The list goes on, but if you can make cutbacks, then you could make a dent in your debt.

Start selling things.
Start working additional jobs.
Stop going out at night.
Get a cheaper house or apartment.
Cancel your Internet connection.
Sell your computer.
Cancel your cable TV or satellite dish.
Cancel those premium TV channels.
Get rid of your cell phone.
Eat soup.
Every little bit adds up.
Purchase a cheaper car, don't lease.
Owe up the promise you made.
Personal bankruptcy is ridicules.
People need to learn to save their money and then buy.
Not buy then figure out how not to pay.
Those who pay pay more because of those who don't.

there are credit councelling agencies you can got o who will try to hekp - you will have to see them as part of a bankrupcy settlemant either way - and a lot of them are free - contact the court where you apply for bankrupcy and ask if they can reccomend a credit councelling agency - there are good ones and bad ones - the court will know the good ones - they can help you get the creditors to stop calling - and they can also help you get a payment plan set up to get out of debt with & without the bankrupcy - oh and cut up the credit cards -

Come up with the $1,800.00. And what doe's a account being joint have to do with anything. Unless it is stated in your divorce decree that you must pay this account there is no reason it can not be included in your bankruptcy.

Sell the car and buy a beater. Work extra, and pay what you owe. It may take a while to get out of the mess, but it is your mess and you owe the money.
Take a look at the link below.

Try this site for help http://www.cccs.net You are right not to file for bankrupcy. That is a last resort. Good luck.
P.S.- I also recommend getting insight form Suze Orman. She is an excellent financial consultant. http://www.suzeorman.com
* I edited the first link. I apologize. That was for student loan consolidation.
