Just noticed that when the engine is idle the revs seem to bounce down and back up?

Had a diagnostics test done but showed up no faults.

Any ideas what might be causing this problem??

I had this problem with my clio. Again nothing showed up on any diagnostic test. Eventually it was discovered that a sensor or something (can't remember exactly) situated near the drive shaft was faulty. Had it replaced and it's been running fine since.

sounds like you running off a cylinder which can be caused by sensor problems and is sometimes hard to find on the diagnostics test

this could be caused by automatic choke, which controls the engines revs while idle.. :D
