Beer + whiskey, Just beer, or just whiskey?

There are really only 3 main choices:
Guinness beer
Bushmill's / Jameson / Green Spot whiskies
Baileys

I say drink a combo of the first 2 categories and save the 3rd for a hangover massaging breakfast. I've never been a huge fan of Carbombs, rather just have a glass of whiskey and a beer, less fuss.

Green Beer

Guinness, Guinness, Guinness, Guinness. Don't do the green beer thing, that's for drunk college kids. Get the beer that tastes good!

Irish Car Bombs.

Bailey's and Jameson (if you can get the stuff that didn't pass through American customs, you'll be in Heaven) if you want something else.

That's what I'll be drinking with my Irish family!

Just Beer! You should drink Killians Irish Red. Stay away from the green beer though!

Both, but stay away from the cheap stuff. Bushmill's Single Malt for whiskey and go for Bass, Guniess or Black and Tan with both. Stay away from green anything in your drink. Wear a green shirt.

Don't be a stupid, barfing drunk.
Stick with one or the other and only in moderation.

A tip to avoid hangovers: match whatever you drink with a glass (6oz.) of water.
Thus, one mug of beer + one glass of water...5 mugs of beer + 5 glasses of water.

It'll help keep the flow going through the bladder and keep your head from exploding the next morning.
