It all comes down to American interests. The government gives little care about the nation or the people involved. They pretend that they do and they pretend to pass on freedom but when it comes right down to it they are out for themselves. Just think how many dictators the US has propped up and how many democracies it has killed all for American interests. I don't know of any country that acts worse than the US does on foreign soil but that is beside the point. The question is about the US.

First off that is not the American way. Humans in general feel the need to be not only part of a group but part of a group that excludes other people.

If you had said the US was the global political bully, I would tend to agree with you. However, here's something you obviously do not know, the United States is the leading country by FAR when it comes to financial aid to poverty stricken nations worldwide. Take a look at the numbers does that look like the type that would destroy anyone who doesnt fall in line?

You bring up Guantanamo bay, where war criminals and terrorists are held. If the United States wanted to "destroy anyone who doesnt fall in line" why on earth would they place them in jail instead of killing them in the first place? The only thing wrong with Guantanamo Bay is the fact that they are not privy to the rights that we Americans have, i.e. right to a speedy trial, etc. In case you do not know, humans do not have those types of rights in a ton of countries worldwide.

Thirdly, you bring up the slave trade. At that time period slaves were not restricted to America, it was a world-wide phenomenon. Slavery was around as early as1700 B.C.!!! This is proved by the Mesopotamian Laws, called the Code of Hammurabi. Often times warring factions would sell their captured enemies as slaves. (a very common misconception is that all slaves were African, which is completely false) In fact this was practiced by tons of cultures, i.e. the Romans, the Vikings, Egyptians. Slavery was not introduced into America until the 1500's A.D. Which is over 3,000 years after slavery was first recorded. I'm not trying to validate slavery in the least bit, but let's get your facts straight before you start with accusations.

Lastly,
You have too much time on your hands to find things to complain about. Is your life history completely un-scarred or have you done things that you regret that you have learned from? In no other country in the world do you have so much freedom to speak out against the goverment than in this country. Enjoy the freedom just try not to look like such a dolt by doing so.

America has several psycological problems that have to be delt with. First: the concept of democracy is not universal especially when it comes to Islam. According to their faith democracy is contradictory to the belief in "The Nation of Islam" where the religion is the nation. America, for better or worse tried to remove the tie between government and religion. Look at the consequences of that! Secondly, the term "National Security" really means economic security. We do not have a "Government of the People, By the People and For the People". It has turned into a government swayed by special interests who don't want to lose economic advantage. But we have already lost that war! China, a supposidly Communist country already dominates us! Next time you buy a product, see if the label says "Made in China"! And yet, we can't get China to co-operate with us when it comes to sanctions against Iran in the U.N.! Thirdly, the U.S. has to show more humility and get off it's collective "High Horse" world bully attitude. We failed to sign the international "clean air" act, we invaded Iraq, which, for what it is worth, was a mistake because Saddam was a check valve between the Sunnis (he was a minority leader of that sect) and Shiites who now are in power thanks to U.S. and guess what? Iran is also Shiite majority and the nut in power wants to establish an Islamic Nation with the capitol in Babylon. Gee. Did we screw up or what? As for the past, it is past. Unfortunately we havn't learned from it. While it is true that the American people are the most generous and compassionate in the world, unfortunately the idiots in Washington leave messes behind like Katrina, Iraq and Viet Nam!

The whole world is out of line almost, we are only at war with 1 country, what do you mean?

Slave trade? lol we do not sell slaves here or anywhere. Also, guantanamo isnt as bad as Alex Jones would have you believe, look this mohamad guy who just admitted to conspiring 9-11 and other events and he is getting due process, has no torture marks , and has been treated good untill he is proven guilty. Stop your american ahte speech.

Losers often misunderstand what history & past wars were meant to solve & what they did solve. The proud history of slave trade had gone on for centuries before the US ever got invloved in it. The proud history of slave trade is that over 90% of slaves were sold by there families to make money in poor countries - not US's fault. Guantanano just recently got a confession of the planner of WTC bombings. It is fulfiiling it's need - sad but neccessary. Iraq & Vietnam were both evil leaders murdering their people & threatening world stability.
I guess you defend Hitler too! How old are you that you use such thick rose color glasses? Life is hard & we will die if we do not stop terrorist & mad men before their power is too strong. There are people i the US that need to be destroyed to protect the rest of us. hmmm!!

Not a bad history?
1. Abolition of slavery at a cost of 600,000 Americans.
2. Destruction of Nazism and Fascism at a cost of 408,000 Americans - Not much help from Europeans either.
3. Destruction of Soviet Union backed communist expanionsim through the satellite war with Vietnam at a cost of 58,000 Americans
4. Halting of Chinese Communists through the satellite war with Korea at a cost of 54,000
5. Halt and disruption of Terrorism at a running cost so far of 3200 Americans in Iraq.
6. Arguably the most powerful force in History for freedom, fair play, and forcing others to play nice.

All in all, not bad for a little country that fought for its Independence from England at a cost of 25000 revolutionary patriots a little over 200 years ago.

Why do people mistake americans with military and government involvement in the world? My grandmother and grandfather left a country that was ravaged by war - where my grandmother's family was all killed, for no reason. They came here seeking sanctuary - they found it and made a wonderful life for my dad and his sisters. Just because I was born in the united states doesn't make me a bad person. And we are not the only nation with a terrible history - why not look up genocide - tell me how many countries have exterminated different races on their own soil. At least now, in this time, we have laws against such a thing. And please don't say our government is horrible - we know that, that is why there are daily conflicts and protests against the war here. That is why our government is now fighting with itself on the quick removal of all troops from Iraq - one crazy apple spoiled the whole bunch.

Someone is feeding you lines and you are swallowing it with hook line and sinker.

It is not the American way. We are compassionate, caring and of course when it comes to business, we are ALL business. Nothing wrong with that.

When the target is big, it is easy to hit. Don't apologize - as an American - for being successful. Let others think what they want. We Americans come as a parcel. Love it or leave it.
