Any recipe that has raw eggs carry some risk of samonella presence. If you are using eggs that have been properly stored, then the risk is quite small.

would you eat a raw egg on its own? probably not...so maybe you shouldnt eat raw dough, unless its the store bought kind...they have so many preservatives in them that the raw eggs, if they in fact use real eggs, are probably ok.
that being said i love cookie dough and just ignore the raw egg aspect as i am digging in!...although I do NOT allow my children to munch on the dough. Salmonella in eggs is rare but i wont risk it for them

no not at all the only thing that is kind of dangerous is if your making a cake and it has raw egg in it if you keep on eating it you can get sick. but think about it they sell cookie dough ice cream they wouldn't sell it if it was harmful.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. Eggs are pastuerized too. People swallow raw eggs all the time. If it is cookie dough from a tube, it is safe in any amounts and if you are sampling your own, I wouldn't worry about it either.

Light hearted response - eating is bad for you, or so all the dietitians will tell you ...not eating is even worse, as the media have just discovered with these size 0 models.
Life is a risk. My Gran used to say, "everything in moderation", and she lived until she was 94years old. Enjoy whilst you can.

Make sure you wash the egg shell before cracking - it is on the shell that salmonella hangs out.
I lived in Europe where no one refrigerated their eggs, but every one I knew washed them before using them. No one I know got sick, but it seems to happen an awful lot here.

If it has eggs in it you could get salmonella. Note to texas_an How could you pasteurize an egg without cooking it?
