no poet your right. In fact the word easter is derived from the word ishtar , which is a pagan God of fertility. also known as babylonian mother goddess of fertility, queen of heaven etc etc . tammuz was her consort.

There are two sides to Easter. The first is the REAL story of Easter: That Jesus, who was the paid the price required for our sins and had been executed on a cross, rose from being dead, proving the price had been paid in full.
I know there are lots of things wrong with the official story: Jesus probably wasn't killed on Friday, he probably didn't rise on Sunday morning, etc, but the important facts are presented in the Bible and are true.
The other story, the one which is pagan, is for people who don't want to know the real story.

NO DISRESPECT, but Easter is one of the two most celebrated of all Christian holidays, all around the world.

The day has been "baptized" into the church, just like all the original pagans were, at which time all ceased to be pagan any longer.

Neither the Christian people, or the Christian church, celebrates anything other than the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter ... or on any other Sunday of the year.

What you choose to celebrate is strictly up to you.

it started out a pagan holiday so age does not matter. the modern Easter celebrations are aimed more towards children though.
