One of the "logical" questions atheists propose on here goes something like this: "why does an all powerful God care what we humans do?"
The logical answer is found in having children: You bring them into the world, feed them, clothe them, house them, nurture them, etc. If they grow up to be ungrateful, uncaring, lazy and disrespectful, would you be pleased with them?
There is a reason God refers to Himself as "Father". He has provided a world that perfectly sustains life, and wants a family that appreciates what He has created for them. He has allowed them freedom, which they have abused in every fashion possible. He has created standards by which they can be rewarded. However, man scoffs at Him and will do anything to avoid obeying Him and learning more about Him.
He sounds perfectly logical to me, why do atheists find any of this illogical?

interesting answers, so far. the ones that say, "he doesn't exist, so your question makes no sense", which is most of them, are illogical.
isn't science way of proving things? you must start with a supposition, and you are the ones who ask the question I am talking about. So when an atheist asks this question about God, they are just morons? I want to know, because then I can have Yahoo delete any question an atheist has that contains the word "god".

What a sad existance for you all. I have such joy and peace knowing God and His son, Jesus Christ. I hope one day your hearts soften and you find a place in your heart for God. He found a place for you in His.

God doesn't refer to Himself as "Father." Human beings, writing about God, call Him "Father" because that's how they conceive of Him. This is a FAR more logical argument than yours.
I feel ridiculous even typing out the word "Him" with a captial "H" in regards to "God" - to assume God has a sex is an absurdity of the same sort as your entire question. You're simply projecting human ideas onto the cosmos and then asking what's "illogical" about it.
And BTW, as to your further remarks, when an atheist on these boards asks a question about "God," what he's really criticizing is religious dogma about God, not the abstract idea of God. The point is to show how absurd, antiquated, and often immoral and savage, our traditional religious concepts can be. There is no reason why "spirituality," including the idea of a "Supreme Being," has to be linked to these concepts.

I find it slightly illogical that a loving God, a fatherly God would nail his own son to a tree - out of love. I find it even more illogical that this loving God would punish his "children" for eternity by iurning their immortal souls in a lake of fire - for a finite mistake they made for a few decades on earth. I find the ideas of free will and omniscience completely contradictory and an illusion. If God knows I will be asleep tomorrow at noon, how exactly do I have free will to be awake at the time? I dont - therefore, either free will is a lie, or God isnt omniscient - and therefore not God.
Do you think you will be able to comprehend this response? It seems logical to me....

Not a question that's occured to this (ex-Christian) atheist. If God was there he might well care. The problem is one of non-existence. It's more a Deist's question or position.
"There is a reason God refers to Himself as "Father". "
Well actually it's easier to invert that, and see it as perfectly logical that *some* Gods should be seen as a father-figure. It's called projection. The wish-fulfillment of a desired perfect father.
"A world that perfectly sustains life"? Open your eyes and look. 99% of all known species are extinct. Bye-bye dinosaurs, sorry about the meteor.

We do call the higher power God Almighty and thru Bible history He has been called other names according to His personality and characteristics toward the people. Then He did pick those who put faith in Him and set them aside from all the other nations. If we believe that He exsists and He in fact is trying to keep us from evil He asks us to separate ourselves from those who don't believe in Him. Hence, we call out to Him by the names He's known to us by. It's respect as acknowleging Him as all powerful.
Atheists so not respect any power bigger than their own(I think) if they look to a higer power they do not give It a respectable name on which to call upon with their most hurting and severe thoughts that go out to nowhere in their opinion. It's sort of like the internet. Their thoughts go out to nobody or nowhere. Why do they have thoughts? Can they control their thoughts? I've known people that sware that they don't believe in God say, when they are in dire straits, HELP! into the air and even OH God! Do they say it just to hear themselves shout, scream or talk?
I think that Christians believe that their God wants to have a relationship with them so that they know that they are not alone during dire straits. Even if we were to die thru a tribulation we know were we are going. We can have peace knowing that.
What do athiests believe in? If it's themselves what happen when they come up short on being just human?
I would feel very lost and think there must be something better than this. But what? I would be suicidal I think. That's how I felt before I came to have a relationship with my Lord Jesus Christ. I'm so glad to admit to myself that I can not do everything for myself. That alone has helped me from being deppressed big time. Just my opinion.

Because it's not the same as raising children. YOu are not all-powerful, therefore you raising children can never by analogous to anything an all-powerful being does, as you simply don't compare. In fact, the atheist view on this subject makes more sense. Or shall I say the Eastern Religous view.

This is all based on the notion that god exists. And because the existence of god is soley based on faith, this is all merely speculation and/or your opinion.
Also, god doesn't refer to himself as father, the writers of the bible call him father as does his worshippers.
If it were a valid argument, it would be logical. But, it is not so the argument is moot.
On a side note, Deists don't believe god is here to care. I would entertain the notion that, if there is a god, he has long gone to do something more constructive than to watch a planet full of insignificant humans.

An atheist wouldn't ask that question. The answer you have given is interesting though.
So, according to you, the purpose of our existence is to procreate so that there is somebody to worship god so he knows he's a good guy?
I am an atheist and I understand both the question and answer, I just don't happen to agree.

If your religion teaches you compassion, wisdom and altruism, more power to you and don't worry about what anybody else thinks. RIGHT? Because when you do cultivate these things, plus knowledge and understanding you begin to understand that everybody does what they do, and perceives what they do due to causes and conditions in THEIR lives that make up who they are.
To me your whole argument falls apart at "god"... I find the concept of an omnipotent creator being, as you put one forth, as illogical on SO many levels. I'm not going to argue with you about it though because I don't expect you to believe and understand what I do... okay then?

None of what you've said makes any sense. Humanity, according to your mythology, is made in the image of your god, we are not its children. In fact, his own so-called son got nailed to a piece of wood and planted in the ground like a macabre daisy, while his "father" watched on.
Personally, if it does exist (god that is), I'm rather scared at what it will do to its "meat puppets" (us) for its own amusement.

i certainly hope you aren't implying that atheists are "ungrateful, uncaring, lazy and disrespectful"
if so, that would show that you are too lazy to learn what an atheist means & how many different beliefs it encompasses; & that you are disrespecful & uncaring to others
can you understand the simple fact that people hold different beleifs of the world, but that does not mean they are deserving of such insults & condemnation as you have set forth?
