how to get rid of scars?

I am hispanic have dark skin and every time i get a minor cut etc my scar will turn darker than my skin color. I bought a product called scarguard lightner and has 2% hydroquinone but have not seen results. Is there anthing that can help laser etc.....

Mederma seems to work well.
