harassment at work... what should i do?

Question

i work as a nanny... never had any problems
the parents a pretty nice but we are not close to each other
a while ago there dad started to want to hug me when he says hi and bye
it was kind of wierd but i though maybe it's because we know each other for 2 years already, so i try to take it easy ...
anyways it kind of freaks me out
now some weeks after that... one day he hugged me and pulled me in a different direction, like kind of out of the room.
so i asked him what happened
and he said :" hug" so i hugged him very unpersonly and try to take off
but he helld me and said :"kiss"
ok my God
i was so shocked that i didn;t say anything and just left.
so he said :"oh yea, we shouldn't do that hein? yea, my wifes dad is coming back to in a few days (the dad lifes with them)"
i just said yea and try to avoid him
after he was very quiet and didn;t say anything and just said bye.
oh my God
i feel so disgusted. i don't know what to do. i love the kids and don;t want to leave them.

... but i can't even look in his eyes after that. the summer is coming up and i feel wierd now to wear summer clothes and all off that. they also have a pool that i always use with the kids. i don't know.
does anybody have a good advise for me. i am really confused and just really disgusted by that.

If you are unable to stand his presence you'll have to find a new job. But first you should try this: look him in the eye and tell him very seriously and firmly that if he ever touches you or looks at you wrong again you will have to find a new job and tell his wife why and report him to the agency if you were hired through one. That gives him one opportunity and a big incentive to clean up his act. You'll feel much better for standing up for yourself. He's obviously a coward and will probably behave himself when he sees that you are too strong to tolerate his inappropriate behavior.Best of luck; you should never have to put up with that!

Well, I don't think it would be a good idea to continue to work for him anymore, sounds to me like he's getting to affectionate with you so you need to get out of the situation before it goes for hugs and stealing kisses into somethink much worse like rape, I know you're probebly saying that wouldn't ever happin, but sometimes a rapest is the one you would never expect. Stay away, and tell someone you trust. Stay safe.

I would tell the wife, really I would. screw there marriage- it's his fault! The guys a creep! I can tell you love the kids but what's worse: being sexually harrsed many times by someone your around alot, or leaving the kids to get a new nanny? Good luck,

I would look for another job! asap and totally avoid him cause this situation is only going to get worse unfortunately there will be no winners! Maybe he is frustrated. But thats not your problem
