What is a, "fundie"?
A fundamentalist is one who honestly believes and tries to live as his/her scripture dictates. That scripture could be the Bible, the Koran, the Vedas, the writings of Marx, or even the Humanist Manifesto. What are your beliefs? Do you try to live according to those beliefs as closely as possible? If so, you are a fundie. If you DON'T try to live by your beliefs, you are not a fundie but rather a hypocrite.
Let's assume you are speaking of Christian funamentalists. Why do you feel threatened by people who honestly want to save you from hell? I'm much more threatened by Muslim fundies who don't want to save me from hell but rather want to send me there without my head.
Interesting fundie fact: Fundies have a tendency to sacrifice themselves to save the life of atheist buddies because they believe they are going to heaven and they want to give thier buddy another chance to live long enough to avoid hell. One "fundie" soldier did just that by throwing himself on a grenade to save his buds. (I know his family, and fundies are raised to think that way)
Here's another question: why do you hate people who believe differently from you?
