for $15 you can take the New York Airport Bus Service from JFK to Grand Central and it drops you off right on 42nd Street and Park Avenue. Then just head east and cross Lexington Ave and 3rd Avenue and you're right there at 2nd Avenue. Much easier than taking multiple trains/subways, but is does cost a little more.

If you take the Airtrain, that is $5 then you'll pay $2 for the subway. It's cheaper but it takes longer and if you have luggage, you have to go up and down lots of steps.

Between those two subway lines, get on the AirTrain and head to Jamaica for the "E" line since that goes express quicker than the "A". At the Lexington Avenue station, change for the "6" train downtown (51st Street) and take that for one stop to Grand Central. From there you can either walk 2 blocks over to 2nd Avenue or wait for the M42 bus....personally it's easier and less time consuming just to do the walk

They are the same line, but neither go to 2nd ave, they end up across town on 8th ave....you're probably better off taking LIRR to atlantic ave then the 4 to grand central. Or the LIRR to Penn Station, then the Shuttle to Grand Central
