I have recently been getting bad double vision starting at about 5PM and lasting until I wake up the next day.
Is there an alergy that may cause this?

Allergies do not cause double vision. There's a couple of things you can do to narrow down the problem: (1) find out if you have double vision in one eye only by covering one eye at a time an looking out the other. If one eye has double vision on its own there is a physical problem in the shape of the eye. (2) find out is the double vision disappears if either eye is covered. If double vision disappears when looking only through one eye, and it doesn't matter which side is covered, then the problem is caused by misalignment of the eyes. (3) if both eyes have double vision problems on their own, the possible causes are numerous, but are often caused by diabetes or Graves disease, and sometimes by a neurological problem such as multiple sclerosis.

Double vision, also called diplopia, causes a person to see two images of a single object. There are two types of double vision: monocular and binocular. Monocular diplopia is double vision in only one eye. The double vision continues even when the other eye is covered. The doubling does not go away when you look in different directions.
As this is a complex subject, I add a link which discusses this subject -
