At Fort Jackson and Fort LeonardWood the basic training is co-ed. The training is the same for both male and female. At all other basic training bases, such as Ft. Sill and Ft. Benning, it is male only.

kinda, you do everything together but sleep and personal hygiene. but males and females aren't allowed to socialize or even talk unless you are training, when you are in garrison, don't even think about starting a relationship with someone in basic training, you will get caught and your entire platoon will get smoked if not worse. members of my platoon were caught "fraternizing" by a surprise locker inspection and many "love Letters" were found in various wall lockers. It was a bad deal. In my AIT, (68W) the fraternization policy was almost nonexistent, so you could pretty well do whatever you wanted with a girl short of PDA. personally, i think PT should be segregated completely, the PT for the males was weak because the females couldn't do it, not because there are weak, but because that's the way the female body is made.

Yes, basic training is co-ed, but you stay in different barracks or at least different floors of the barracks. And some AIT's are co-ed. It depends on the specific job. You should go to www.goarmy.com for more information on Army life or contact your local recruiter.

Yes it is, and I believe it is pathetic to think that a military force has dropped it's standards to accomodate women. This might be politically correct to the liberals of this country, but it does very little to assure the American people that we have the most effective fighting force in the world.

Thank God, that GWB had the vision to put a Marine Corps officer in as Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff. This move can comfort many out there who are concerned about our politically correct, but less than effective army.

Negative. Army boot camp is separate. Men share barracks with other men, women share barracks with other women. They are located in the same area, and join formations together.

At least it was like this when I went through boot camp in 1990...
