I was separated from the military (General Under Honorable) and I'm wondering if I'm still eligible for Unemployment Compensation. I've seen some people answer similar questions about gays in the military saying you aren't ever eligible. I know that's not true, my wife was discharged honorably and collected unemployment. Can I under a General?

path2631....I'm glad you're life and state's economy is so perfect and you can support a family on the hope that in 10 days notice you can get a job...if you don't have an answer, don't post negative things. I didn't ask a question for someone who doesn't know me to judge me. I have a family and bills, that's what unemployment is there for.

Flip W...I did apply for unemployment I was just trying to get a head's up on what they would say. Thanks for stating the obvious.

A general discharge, because it's not dishonorable, should enjoy the same benefits as an honorable discharge, uncluding VA services on physical or mental problems that are service related.

Why waste time on this answer board? Contact your local state unemployment office and ask the question. They can probably look at you DD-214 and determine your eligibility.
