You'll have to talk to them about personal space, and how they are treating you like a 3 year old.... agree on some rulez with ur parentz...but let them know you are getting older now and they will have to trust and respect your decisions! Let them know you get good grades, you are good student and you would like to have more privaleges! Work out something- and good luck

Sorry it is long please read it though it will help!!!!Ok hold up girl. i am 14 also. Ya know you are lucky. I don't get to go to dances. Your parents do that so you don't get onto trouble. My space is sooooooooooooooooooooo BAD. Even if you set it on private some creepy old guy can go and your profile will show where you live. Trust me it is bad. I love my parents even when they are way to stict. Do you know why? I have great grades just like you. I don't get into trouble on the computer, nor watch tv shows that are bad. Yes my parents are strict to but they have there reasons. You are only 14 and they are older than you remeber that. And yes i used to wonder why other kids are bad and get more privlages. It is because there parents don't love them or pay attention to them {most of the time} Be glad they love you... PS: be glad they treat you like 3 in stead of what they would be treating you like if you were on myspace, and going to dances just to make out. Think about that, plus my moms parents were like that, my mom now has 5 kids proud graduate of college and is my mother who i love and don't know what i would do with out her bye good luck. hope you take my advice

Do you ever wonder why you have good grades? Do you ever wonder why you are a good girl? Because your parents are doing the best they can to insure that. There is no "too strict" unless it involves you being hurt or troubled. It sounds like your parents have a great deal of interest in YOU! There is plenty time to myspace and run amock after you leave home believe me! Cherish the guidelines your parents are giving to you. They are creating a fine young woman....you will appreciate the discipline. The more you resist, the tighter their hold will be.

Your parents are like mine. Im a couple years older than you and I still wonder why but heres my conclusion:
They care and are worried about our well being. They dont want us to be out of control or get hurt. The myspace thing IS for your protection. I had one and when my mom found out she was mad but explained why. Just try nicely calmly sitting your mom or dad down and saying can I do this? or why cant I do that when I show how responsible i am?
What ever you do dont get angry

Sounds like my parents and Nope sounds like they are doing a good job. Just relax. Not much you can do until you are 18 which is only 4 years away! So chill out little girl and do what your parents want you to do!

It sounds to me like your parents love you very much and are very concerned about your well-being. Believe me, there are many people who have children who think that raising children is as simple as throwing "toys" & tv at them.
Others have given good answers here, so please let me approach it from this angle: I know several people who absolutely DESPISED taking piano lessons when they were children. However, when they became adults, NOT ONE of them now regrets taking them. They appreciate their parents for making them take the lessons.
As you grow older and see the myriad children who are neglected by parents who are more concerned with stretching their teenage years into their eighties, you'll appreciate your mom and dad and I have no doubt you'll thank them for their care.
Please don't misunderstand me. I think you do love your parents and appreciate them. Just don't ever forget that they have given themselves to you and the good things in life which you enjoy are there because they love you enough to provide you with them.
Take care and I wish you continued success!

different united states has different guidelines and guidelines to be strict or non strict with their youthful ones and their a even as. i imagine it really is relying on their behaviour and the ambience the position they strengthen and grown up and which makes them to act in strong or undesirable procedures, in accordance to that fogeys could could act too also they ought to verify and understand what made them to act like this way. it really is more advantageous powerful to be both, because even as youthful ones do nasty issues could suggestion and punish them it really is totally elementary in each the position. often times father and mom could be pleasant and comprehensible about their youthful ones issues too. father and mom could suggestion them oftentimes about doing undesirable issues. father and mom also needs to get excitement from even as they do strong jobs too. even as our father and mom are youthful ones they did a similar issues that what we did and what our youthful ones are doing now. Our father and mom were also punished with assistance from their father and mom and their father and mom from their grand father and mom and their tremendous tremendous father and mom too. no individual is acceptable till someone shows about our strong behaviour and strong behaviours. it truly is why it really is more advantageous powerful act to be often times strict and oftentimes non strict with their youthful ones behaviors.

They are too strict! I think some people in this world don't quite remember what it was like to be a kid. (How awful!)
