its not for me...its for my friend because she said that her mom thought she was like going anorexic and i was just wondering if that it was safe..

If you were consistantly losing (and not gaining it back) 5 pounds every week, I would be concerned. But water weight can easily make your weight fluctuate by 5+ pounds.

it all depends on how much you weigh to begin with. If you are a small person and don't weigh that much to begin with, losing 5 pounds in a week will probably not happen, more like 2 to 3 pounds, which is the safe amout to lose. Any more than that is probably going to be water loss, which doesn't stay off.
You can check out any diet site to get information. Check with Weight Watchers site and you can get some info on losing weight, or you can check South Beach diet. They will all tell you the same thing.

i got the flu a month ago and lost 10 lbs of body fluid. in two days i put it all back on.
so it's ok, to lose some water weight, as long as you don't dehydrate.

but anything from wieght watchers to the Ellen degeneros show have wight loss tips...

no it isnt. normal is to lose not more than 1-2lbs a week. if you lose more - its unhealthy and it will come back.
1lbs of fat is 3500cal- 5lbs are 17500cal
women are supposed to get 2000cal a day- thats 14000cal a week.
that means that you dont eat at all AND exercise a LOT.
