I am in need of a pedestal and base for a large oak table. I have looked at every Goodwill, ect store but with no luck? I can't afford to pay on line prices and shipping.

Just a few ideas for you to try:
check out the local antique shops, sometimes they hang on to those things and if you hit it at the right time they may sell it to you just to get it out of storage.

if your area has a freecycle.com you can put an ad on there for free and someone may have one in the basement or attic to get rid of

if you have a furniture restoration or stripping and refinihsing place close to you, it would be a good idea to give them a call they may know where you can find one.
Hope it helps!

It's the "E-Bay" watch for you then!! Good luck! Also make the local garage sale rounds on the weekends.

I agree watch for those garage sales and little local papers for their ads. You should be able to find what you need with a little patience.

Try craigslist.com and then your area. Otherwise start hitting the garbage sales.
