We are on the road that leads to heart disease, diabetes, and a life of obesity. And even worse I'm afraid our kids will soon be there too. Joining a gym isn't an option, because we can't get a babysitter for every day and we can't afford it. I feel like I may be more committed then my husband, since I've already lost 1/3 of the weight and have truly accepted my problem. I need some real solutions that will actually work! Maybe something involving a commitment that can't be broken or daily routines that can become habititual.

First, eliminate all fast food from your diet. Learn to cook together, involve the husband and kids. Feed your family healthy snacks, carrot sticks, raisins, apple slices, etc. Then find an activity the whole family can do, take walks with the dogs, the kids in strollers or on their bikes. Last, but most important, turn off the TV and video games. Sign the kids up for T Ball or soccer, swimming lessons, anything outdoors.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Have you checked into the gyms-Gold's Gym has daycare. My husband and I have 3 kids and we go 4 nights a week. Oh and we only pay $15 a month for all 3 kids. Another good option is the YMCA- they have child care and the membership is income based! My brother pays $21 every 3 months for the Y! The personal trainer at my gym said that losing weight is 80% diet. So, focus on that and then go from there-I lost 20lbs at home before I joined the gym. Try these sites.

Why dont u find a gym that will care for the kids there. or go on family walks, get some weights for the house. eat healthier. eat five times a day, small amounts. it depends where you live but there are cheap gyms in the bay area (ca) pay between 9-19 a month. Fitness 19 or Right Stuff gyms (they are all over). look it up online.

I think that running everymorning before going yto work is the best thing. You will have time to be together and maybe talk while you walk. I started running/walking with my boyfriend and now it's a habit that has brought us closer. If you have very small children you can buy those little cars for babies and you can push them while you are running, and if they can walk already all of you can ejoy a fresh morning walking.
