They are cheaper to run, you rarely need to search for a parking spot, they can get you pretty much anywhere you need to go (often right to the door, rego and insurance are less (if anything at all). You notice a lot more things happening as you ride around, It is a good way to meet other people, you develop a more relaxed outlook on life, they are cheaper to buy , If you ride during peak hour it is often quicker, You rarely need to pay to park it, You can take it inside for security, You don't get caught in traffic jams, it is enjoyable, You have to try really hard to get booked for speeding, As you get fitter you want to ride more, It is a great recreation, You get fit so you can enjoy a lot more of life's other pleasures.
An employer notices, that you arrive bright and cheerie. You don't need to stand around the coffee machine to get going. If your doing physical work you last longer. Your head is clearer so you are less distracted. (The time on the bike clears your head). Once other staff notice the benefits they start riding also. This gives the boss an impression of leadership skills.
Generally your in better mental and physical condition to take on anything.
(P.s. I should have said something about sex but it is not really work related)

In addition to the obvious financial, health reasons, there are also career motives.
People notice when you ride into your office; whether they be supervisors, team-members, executives, and/or the cute new secretary. It is a great conversation starter and you will probalby be surprised at your new noteriety. Also you can get to the office feeling refreshed and ready for your daily battles (the time spent riding to work is not wasted, you can easily plan out your day and get a headstart). After a stressful day, instead of getting even more frustrated with traffic and the commute, take the long way home and enjoy the scenery and fresh air.
