Do you have a green card? If not get one, if you are married and meet the residency requirements, than you can get a green card and then apply for a social security card. Don't you have some sort of adviser or support unit in the military that can answer all your issue. If you are overseas go to the American Embassy.

If you are a legally recognized resident alien, then all you have to do is apply for a social security card. When in doubt, call INS and they'll direct you on how to do this.

You can't. you have to apply for you work permit and green card.. I'm still waiting on mine.. the process is a littl bit long..
Every base have a Immigration lawyer.. Go to them and they'll help you go the right direction.. They'll answer all of you question.. That's what I did.. and the best part.. there is no lawyer fee.. The lawyer is free, but the applicationfor work permit, green card, finger print, medical exam, isn't.. if you want to know more about it on my case email me: melzinha_popozuda@hotmail.com
Good Luck!!1
