I want to join, but have read on the air force website that you have to be between the ages of 17 & 27. My 28th B-day is rapidly approaching (1 month) and I'm in no shape to go to boot camp right now. Is it possible to get a waiver for my age?

And don't just tell me to go ask a recruiter so that you can get points for answering a question... :)

When I signed up for the airforce, I did it thru the Delayed Entry Program (in 2003). However, you can only be in the Delayed Entry Program 6 months or less. If you arent in shape and need time to get in shape, you can join thru DEP. However, if you are overweight you wont be accepted in.

Absolutely honestly, for Active Duty the answer is no. The AF does not waiver age at all. My husband joined three years ago when he was 27. He had to be in Basic by his 28th birthday. He left 2 days bfore he turned 28. However you can join the AF Reserves until you are 32.

you are able to become a pilot, yet no longer one experienced via the air rigidity. you ought to have a diploma and have the skill to end pilot coaching via your twenty seventh birthday. So except you will get a 4-3 hundred and sixty 5 days diploma in a single day and be usual for pilot coaching and end in the past your next birthday, it is not going to happen. That mentioned, you are able to nonetheless connect the air rigidity and connect the aero club and get your pilot's license and get commercial certification that way. this is going to fee you cash, yet plenty extra low fee than attempting to do it as a civilian. All bases have not got aero golf equipment so it could confusing to do, yet no longer impossible. BTW, there are just some pilots in the air rigidity so the slots are very difficult to get.

Sometimes you can, but usually it is done for younger people to join early. I think the reserves or national guard have less strict age guidelines. Or, you may need to join even if you are a little unfit. Boot camp will shape you up in no time, I promise!

No. There is NO waiver for exceeding the maximum age limit. If you're over the maximum age, the Air Force will NOT accept you, period.

Sorry.

you would have to change your contract. Its possible but would be frowned upon. The other thing is that the AF will get you in shape.
