why would my doctor prescribe me diclofenac?

for sharp pains in my head, muscle spasms,dizziness,fatigue and nausea. those drugs are a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug why would it be used for my symptoms

As what you have stated above, you are suffering from Cervical Spondylitis, it's a very good prescription.
How ever it should be used on full stomach, possibly with an antacid so that you cannot get NSAID induced peptic ulcer.
It is not an anti-anxioltyic or anti depressant.
This is the simple explanation, at my end.

It is also used for the treatment of tension headaches and migrain etc. It has more than one common use
