Grill the ham slice (on foil) Add the bread with the cheese atop, add on the grilled ham, until the cheese melts and the bread toasts some. This is the way they make the grilled ham and cheese in Sicily.

Just toast the bread until you have toast, then take the slices out, divide the cheese evenly between the two slices, slide the ham onto the grill on the side (if there's room, otherwise, put it onto the sandwich once you take the cheese out). Then when everything is heated through and melted, pull it out, slap the two slices together and mmmm, crunchy grilled cheese!

That's how I did it in college, though I used my toasted to make the toast to begin with.

Edit: I put the cheese on the bread because it helps adhere everything together when you slap the slices together.

Make sure that you butter both sides of the bread. Add ham and cheese in the middle (Preferably Kraft Slices) and insert into toaster oven. Once one side is brown flip. When that side is done, take out and enjoy!

Hope this helps.

If I were you I would make it differently. Make the sandwich and then get a small teflon frying pan. Heat and add a little butter and a little canola oil, place ham and cheese sandwich in pan. Cover with a fry cover, Grill on one side, making sure not to burn, then turn over with a spatula and grill till brown on other side. Serve immediately.
