I have a beautiful dress that I bought for my daughter's sweet 16 and it's only been worn once! It's in perfect condition could I sell it at the dry cleaners? I would like to bring it to the cleaners and have it pressed and preserved but at the same time could I just tell the cleaners that the dress is for sale? The dress cost me $900.00. I would sell it for about $750.00 only because I bought it 2 years ago.

You might seriously have to drop the price of the dress and even though it is in perfect condition, it has been worn and nobody I know what pay that much for a dress. In bigger cities they have places that buy expensive and namebrand clothes but you would not get $750.00 for the dress. Probably at most $500. You could also put an ad in the paper or go to a formal shoppe.

Don't you know why you think the drycleaners would sell a dress. Regardless of where you sell it, you are aiming WAY too high. A two year old styled dress would be able to be sold for maybe 150 to 200, max, depending upon what it's like. Try the newspaper.

I have news for you...you will never get $750 for the dress unfortunately. People want a bargain if they are going to buy used, and no matter that you paid $900, they couldn't care less. The fact that you bought it 2 years ago, styles change, colors change, be realistic and charge $300 and if someone buys it take the money and run.

You can sell it, but honestly you shouldn't expect that much for it. 1) it's 2 years old. 2) it's already worn. I know if I were buying a used dress I wouldn't pay that much for the dress.

There is actually a site called www.sellyourweddingdress.com ... all kinds of dresses are for sale and I'm sure it wouldn't take much to list one more. Good luck!!

um..does your dry cleaner also operate a dress shop? EBay or a local consignment shop might be better than a dry cleaner.
