It is likely that you are putting on weight when bulemic. I have personal experience with this, some one I know has suffered for about 10 years, but finally got help and beat it as best you can.

unlike anorexia, you have already consumed the food, digested a good portion of it and then purged it, by which time you have already received most of the nutrients and fats from that food. You also have days when you binge eat (ie empty most of the fridge, cupboards, etc of all the "bad" foods. Chocolate, ice cream, etc.) and then purge that too (maybe) but again by the time you purge it, you've already digested most of it.

Bulemia isn't about the food or the weight. Its about control. When you are binging and purging you feel in control. When you don't you feel down, depressed and alone (and possibly fat)

It's true, you probably need help, but that's not what you asked. If you need / want some one to talk to then feel free to contact me or if you prefer use the links provided below.

Somewhere near you there will be a support group. Your GP is also a good source of help or, like me go to see your practise nurse, she got me a lot of leaflets which I could use to help my friend.

Also you don't say if you have a partner. If you do, chances are he knows or suspects that there is a problem, you may think you're hiding it well, you're probably not

When you rob your body of nutrients, it shuts down use of your calories and immediately begins storing everything you eat as fat because it thinks you're starving. It's going to do everything it can to hold on to every calorie you let into your system. The way to lose weight is to eat properly and EXERCISE. You don't have to puke everything back up. Just quit eating the chocolate and take a walk every day.

Hun, theres no way on earth that you would be putting on weight.

From previous experience in this, you believe that you are putting on weight all the time, reason: you have bulimia, is a psychological disorder.

Sweetheart you need to get help, really.

What you are suffering from, you may never be able to have kids, you may die.

Make an appointment with your doctor, he/she will forward on to someone that will help you.

Please get help x

I'm pretty sure that it is a factor. Try and take care of yourself a little better. Just try to eat healthy and exercise regularly. If you eat healthy you will feel much better about yourself.

You need some serious help... who cares if you are putting on weight, you need to see a shrink to sort out your bulimia.

More than likely. Throwing up your food doesn't necessarily help you lose weight- it causes more health problems than anything. Please, please go see a Dr. about this.
