Excuse me but i have tried that but not work this is what it said when i checked off the "Place volume icon in the taskbar"

It said: ERROR: "Windows cannot display the volume on the taskbar because the Volume Control Program has not been installed. To install it use Add/Remove Programes in Control Pannel"

I have gone to the Add/Remove program but i did not kno what to type in.

open add/remove programs and select "add/remove windows components" from the left hand bar, hi-light accessories and utilities and select details, see if there is a multimedia box there if there is put a tick in it and apply, if not then close it and use the steps below to add the multimedia it is hiden then

open folder C:\windows\inf and look for the file called sysoc.inf and right click it and select open with and choose notepad. look for the line
MultiM=ocgen.dll, OcEntry, multimed.inf,hide,7
and remove the word "hide" close the file and save letting it save the changes.

Now go back to open add/remove programs and select "add/remove windows components" from the left hand bar, hi-light accessories and utilities and select details, put a tick in it multimedia and apply. You might be asked for your windows disk.

You should now be able to go to sound and audio devices in your control panel and put a tick in "place volume icon in the task bar"

The volume control program is probably something supplied by the people that make the sound device in your PC.

Find out what the sound device is then try looking on the manufacturers website for the latest software for it

Interesting! The next thing to try would be a system restore which is in Accessories/System tools. Just set it back to just before the clean you did.

Try restoring your computer, and if there is a volume control, try that.
