If you had really moved on, you have been able to make that decision by yourself, without having to discuss it with John. You didn't need to write John a note saying that you had moved on, your actions should have been clear enough to John that you had. If you are interested in Micheal, ask him out, and see where things go. Be mature about things with both guys, but just know that you don't need John's approval in order to ask Micheal out. Separate yourself from John more, because his girlfriend may become jealous, and that's not something you want for anyone, big drama, not good.

I'd put some distance between you'all.John wants you to be jealous, thats why he can't let go.You can't afford to be friends with someone that insecure.Micheal?Yea,waiting a while till the John thing wears down isn't a bad idea.Don't tell John about Micheal, its none of his buisiness!

To get John to get over you, you need to tell him for real that it truely is time. Tell him You found something better. If he dosen't understand that then just stop explaning John your cituation

Well obviously you care a lot about him and his gf because you came on here asking this question...Maybe you are a little jealous...but to show him you arent...just don't care...don't talk to him ...don't show any feelings toward him and his gf...because that is what you would do if you truly did not care.

If you really want him to believe that you have moved on,you need to quit asking for his opinion.Who, how,or why you date is no longer any of his concern. The more you include him in your daily decisions, personal, and otherwise, the more he will feel that you want him in your life.
