It really doesn't matter which office to go to, they are about the same. If by strict you mean business like, that is their job. They are there to test you, not be your friend.
Yes, you can surely try Naperville if you think you'd be happier there, or Bridgeview, or Plano, or Joliet, or Orland Park for that matter. Yes, I'm displaced from DuPage county, and a graduate of Downers Grove High (north), class of 57.

Yes, I took my driving test in Naperville and it was really easy. I never even had to do parallel park (which I absolutely despise) and it went by really quick (despite the wait to be tested). It's a very popular location so plan on getting there early. I know of people who took the driving test in Aurora.. and everyone of them said how hard it was. So I recommend Naperville's instead. I took it about 5 years ago or so and they tested you on the usual turns, reverse, forward, either uphill or downhill parking (even though there was no hill where they tell you to park so it was strange), and reverse around a corner.. just make sure to put on your blinker when you reverse. I forgot about that and got a few points taken off but I still passed with colors! Basically, half of the stuff I learned in Driver's Ed didn't even show up on the road test in Naperville!

Finally I found someone in my area! I've never then to a DMV in a suburb, but the ones in the city are a piece of cake.

I live in New Jersey and have some driving exams questions and answers. If you want it, I can e-mail to you; but I am not sure that it can help you or not.
