or had any problems with them - or successfully obtained a refund from them after having the kitchen fitted?

From a person who has worked in the kitchen industry for 33 years please take my advice - if your initial complaint has met with little or no response 1) do not lose your temper - this will give them an argument that you were unreasonable from the outset. 2) keep a record, date and time of all telephone conversations which essentially must have the name of the person with whom you are communicating. 3) talk to your local trading standards officer - but do not let B & Q know you are doing this as they may then refuse to communicate with you. 4) invite the store manager to visit you with their installer to view your problems - this may help as then it is not being 'viewed from a distance' and if the conversation becomes difficult you can POLITELY ask them to leave.
Good luck and it would be interesting to see the results on here if you get one ! One further piece of advice - stay away from the sheds - shop with established local businesses - if things go wrong for their customers they take it personally and will go to greater lengths to sort out problems - don't forget they do not have access to the kind of advertising budget that the nationals have and therefore bad publicity or good publicity is much closer to home.

I bought a kitchen from B&Q about 8 months ago and had nothing but problems, I did get a small refund. Thankfully I was fitting the kitchen with a friend so I didnt have to suffer anymore of their inadequacys.

My friend had a complete nightmare with them, ended up threating them with court action to get money back.
We had ours fitted by Intoto, expensive but worth it!

I've seen several that have been fitted by their (subcontracted) fitters and overall I'm apalled at how poor it is.
