Sorry, I don't think anyone really lives in Wilshire, California. Of 478 cities and towns in California none is named Wilshire. You may be thinking of what is commonly called the Wilshire District in L.A. Wilshire Road may or may not be in that district....There also appears to be a small isolated area of the state north of Fresno, which is unofficially called Wilshire. Make sure those apartments are in fact where you think they are...You would probably like the Wilshire District...or most of it anyway...

The Wilshire Royale Apartments, 2619 Wilshire Blvd, are located in Los Angeles between Lafayette Park and Macarthur Park, on the edge of downtown and the Wilshire District. The building was recently renovated as part of a project to revitalize the downtown area.

The area used to be full of drug dealers and it had a LOT of crime. Macarthur Park was notorius for the drug trade. However, that may have changed in the past few years. Building owners are fixing up buildings and making them nice in an effor to revitalize the area. Downtown LA is undergoing a revitalization itself. It is becoming more popular to live there. The neighborhood in that part of LA has been dangerous at night in years past. However, I wouldn't sign anything without going down there and seeing for myself.

The great part of living there is that you will be close to downtown, which gives you a very short drive or ride to work if you get a job downtown. The traffic will still be bad, but the views from the upper floors could be fantastic. Being close to downtown, you can take advantage of all it has to offer, with the Disney Concert Hall, theaters, etc.

Wilshire Blvd. is the "Main Street" of Los Angeles. It runs from downtown all the way to the ocean. The part you are looking at, as someone else said is close to downtown in a busy, urban, area. It is centrally located and convenient to a lot of places in LA. If you think you would like living right in the middle of a great big city, you will like it.

wilshire isn't a town, it's a district named for it's major thoroughfare.

the area is fine, except for the miserable traffic.
