No matter the religion, everyone thinks that their answer is the right answer and most think their's is the only right answer. This is perhaps why evangilism has always been a high priority for the major religions of the world.
Aside from the philosophical aspect of who's "right" being a major influence on converting people...there's always been strength in numbers. A religion with a great backing is likely to be strengthened and the case for it also.
There's also the political aspect, with strength in numbers comes stronger political backing and the hope for a future led by the particular "truth" that any given group of people believes.
Hope this helps.

Because if you are a Christian and you believe seriously, you're not talking about a silly thing you believe in like Santa Claus... You're talking about, that for you, IS reality. Same applies for Islam and other faiths. Now think about it, if you believe Christianity is reality and Christianity says the only way to Heaven is by confessing faith in Christ. You start thinking 'well, I can either not share this info and let other people go to hell, or I can share the news and save them'. Because being a Christian is about thinking of others and helping others, it comes naturally that you would want to save others from hell, and therefore preach your faith.
For a good Christian, it is not a matter of having other people seeing things their way. It is a matter of saving their soul from the fires of hell, and helping fellow man or woman find God and live a more fulfilling life.

ok for a minute plz think about it like this. The most extrodinary thing in the world has happened to u and u feel so full of life. what would b more logical? to keep this to your self or to tell every single person you ever run into and try to make their day better. We really dont want to offend people but somtimes that happens we just want everyone to have the same wonderful gift that we do. And by no means do we think of ourselves as higher than anyone else in the world well at least christians dont. and if they do then they are not representing God appropiatly. hope this helps God Bless!

Because both religions command it:
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
- Jesus speaking in Matthew 28:19-20[1]
"Fight against them until idolatry is no more and Allah's religion reigns supreme. - Sura 2:193[2] and 8:39[3]
Sura 8:60 - "You shall prepare war against them with all the power you can muster, and all the equipment you can mobilize, that you may strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah, who are your enemies, as well as others who are not known to you."
Sura 8:12 - "I will strike terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved. Smite them above the necks, and strike even every finger."

i cant speak for a Muslim, but as a Christian, I know why I would like everyone to believe what I do. I believe that without Christ, you cannot enter into the kingdom of Heaven. I dont want anyone to be resigned to a life in Hell, apart from God, so I want people to accept Christ. This is what I believe. Hence the fear fro people who dont. It has noting to do with wanting everyone to think like I do as a means to warrant validity to my faith, or to make me feel more accepted. It has to do with me believing that without Christ, people are throwing away a precious gift. And that makes me sad for them.

Humans are herd animals and everybody thinks their herd is best. Incidentally, you forgot to mention atheists - then evangelize as much as any Christians.
