My relationship just came to an end, because of a disagreement, this time I decided to stand for what I thought was correct, without giving an inch, and things weren't done her way. Since things were done her way 100%, I decided to come up with a negotiation, where her and I were satisfied. Last weekend she wanted so badly for us to go to another city for the weekend, knowing was a weekend that for me make free time, was not going to be easy, I was way too busy, I suggested to do it on another day, and do something in town, she tried to change my mind, she couldn't, things started to go downhill, I let them go downhill!!!!. I did wrong on what is save the relationship, but I did right to not to let someone manipulate me. What are the natural/pschological reasons why a woman would do this to a man, who is not manipulative, but doesn't like to be manipulated?

first of all, men and women manipulate each other, it isnt something that only women do. i think your type of situation isnt about the specific instance but about a pattern of interaction between you. any relationship has a power dynamic where one person may be more dominant than the other. that can of course change from situation to situation. in your case it seems like she was probably always pushy to you and perhaps in the past you let her be. so now standing up for yourself has no weight and she feels justified in trying to bully you even more.

i think manipulation like that is about control. sometimes people try to control others as a way to try and master the fact that they dont feel in control of anything else. its sorta like the ultra conceited person having low self esteem. you wouldnt think the conceited person would struggle with how they feel about themselves but they usually do and they compensate for those feelings by telling everyone how great they are. a manipulative person might feel like they dont control their own destiny so they might seek out people who they can dominate to make themselves feel better.

ultimately if there is a lesson to learn here it is that even the easy going person needs to set boundaries. like maybe you generally go with the flow. so in the next relationship put your foot down about things early on and set up a more cooperative dynamic. that will help you compromise if a situation like this comes up again.

First not all women manipulate men. Everyone wants things to go their way, but we need to face facts that it just can't happen that way in the real world, and if it does, we're snots for insisting it be that way. The most important opinion I have for you is this.......if you guys broke up over not going out of town, then your relationship was in sad shape to start with. I agree with you trying to make a compromise that both could be satisfied with, that's the way it's supposed to work. You weren't wrong, sounds like she's a tantrum thrower and needs to grow up a little. The fact is that women like her manipulate because guys allow it, and shouldn't. There's nothing wrong with giving in every now and then, but all the time is a different story. Keep up your willingness to make yourself and your "girl" happy, and a nice one will come along in no time! As for the one you let go, COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS! cause' she was obviously not serious about your relationship. I wish you well, and it's nice to know that there are still some "good guys" out there!

I think that a lot of women are smarter than men, in matters of the heart. Maybe she wasn't trying to manipulate you at all, but trying for some quality , much needed special time with you. Why are you guys all so bull headed. Try to see things from her point of view for once. Maybe you will realize that she was right. Life is very short, and time has a way of sneaking past you and then your middle aged. Take time, sounds like you need it.

I am a woman and I know as a fact that women want what they want and so heres what we do....manipulate men! The reason to why we continue to manipulate them is for this reason: the first time we manipulate them they listen because thats how dumb they are! They do whatever we ask well most of them so once they give we don't stop taking until we have EVERYTHING we want!!!!!!!!!!!!

Manipulate means "to manage or influence skillfully, especially in an unfair manner: to manipulate people's feelings:" How was she doing this? She was wanted to do something and you didnt, such is life.

It seems like a very silly thing to break up over if you ask me, but then since you seem to be so immature, its probably better that you did.

ok first men do this to so dont blame all women for one GIRLS problems when people do that is makes them seem ignorant
and that is not a huge deal if she cant deal with the fact that you are to busy then she is high mantiance which is not a good thing so i think you did right be standing up but this is not a huge deal (or at least shouldn't be) in a relationship

so go date real women and stop saying we are all bad we aren't

Some people are just users and she may very well be one of those people. There is however, a difference between being dominated and willfully submitting. All good relationships have some "give and take".

The answer to your initial question is the same as why do dogs lick their genitals?...Because they can.

If she is trying to be with you, because she loves you, it is perfectly ok to give her some slack & be her little love slave as I call it.

But if she is doing it only to manipulate you, do not worry about it. If she does this all the time, might be time for a new partner.

There are plenty of fish in the sea, are there not?

Thanks!

Bro don't listen to anyone but me. Women will control anyone they can and many times they use thier p-ssy to do it , where I come fron that's prostitution. Any way you did the right thing, if she can't compromise sned her to the showers, she will meet a guy who treats her like sh-t and naturally she will fall inl ove with him, he in turn will cheat on her and then bail and she will come running back to you, in which case you use her for all the kinky sex she will be willing to give you and when you have had your fill..... LAUNCH HER . Peace.

Maybe she got tired of your being a pigheaded bastard. If you are explaining your reasons, that is one thing, but it sounds like you just decided to be a prick and called it "standing your ground" when in fact, it was just being a prick for the sake of being a prick. You could get the same result you wanted by having a reasonable conversation.
