Who wants to listen to funeral music every week? People want to listen to something that they can enjoy, and music can be made enjoyable for the ears without compromising the message.

It's a sad fact of today's day that very few people go to church for the right reasons. Church has become just entertainment. "Bring in more numbers, and make them happy" that seems to be the motto of most church leaders today. But stop and think, what is that all about? Glorifying the church leaders, not God. Making man feel good. What should church be about? Worshiping and glorifying God alone, not man. Any religion that focuses on man or his abilities or works is not true Christianity. That is why the modern music and mega church movement of today's day scares me, and I pray to God that the souls will see the light and be turned away from the bondage of looking to themselves, and look only to Christ.

Because people relate to what they hear everyday. Up until very recently the only music a person would hear regularly would probably be at their church so it didnt matter so much.

These days people are able to listen to an endless variety of music in many different ways and will naturally seek out that which appeals to them the most

Because church has become much more a social hour, and churches appear to have as their main goal increasing membership. I enjoy churches that have a choir, a praise band, solos, etc. (a wide variety of music).

They are confusing entertainment with belief.
If those churches stopped the practice tomorrow, how many members would be left? Only true believers of the faith.

Modern music is bright & happy--& it all works well until they are told they must also believe in the "end times"--& a 6,000 year old earth--then it tends to sour a tad!!
