Your skin is the biggest organ you have and will indicate many problems. Doctors these days seem to be to quick to eyeball something without running many needed labs , this can cause a medical problem to remain untreated and worsen . What other symptoms do you have besides the itching?

First off I would go see your Doctor, You need to determine whether you have an allergy or a skin condition. IF it is an allergy and it is constantly itching, chances are you will have to take an allergy test. You might try some simple things like, changing the type of laundry detergent you use, dish soap, or anything else that you come into contact with every day. Really a doctor is the way to go. I mean, what if you contracted scabies some how. Better to be safe that sorry.
If you think its dermatitis, try using a product called " utterly smooth" its a great topical lotion that works for a friend of mine. Also try changing your sheets and cleaning your mattress.

Go to a good 'soap store' (NOT a grocery store or drugstore) and buy 'pure shea butter soap' ... it's expensive, but if you use that when you wash, it WILL HELP that itching go away. What you are experiencing is 'dry skin' and many pregnant women get it ... but I have discovered the 'good' in shea butter (which you can buy 'pure' as a thick 'rub' for those itches, too) since my husband who has sebhorrea uses it when he showers now, and also when he 'breaks out' in a red, itchy spot between his eyebrows. Since we got the shea butter soap and 'ointment' he's not 'flaking' and he doesn't itch. I asked and the lady at the soap store said she uses the same things because she was badly burned ... it brought back the 'suppleness' of her skin, and also eases the 'pain' from her scarring ... I use a soap that has shea butter and lavender and it helps me get to sleep and stay asleep. So try it ... I think you'll like it! And you should 'stop itching' after no more than three baths or showers.

It depends...first you have to find out what your allergic to. If you have hives and any type of throat swelling you should see a doc now. if not, then try changing your soaps, detergents, deodorants, cremes, etc. You may have developed an allergy to any of these. Also food allergies (though rare) can cause this. Before considering shots...which only work for a full blown allergic reation or else mild allergies (not this) first try to find out what your allergic to.
If all that fails...see a allergy doc

steroid shots might work.....I'd stick with the Benadryl until you are seen by your doctor though.
