I work in an eye doctor's office and it blows my mind that people on welfare have better insurance than my husband does and he's a full-time Staff Sergeant in the National Guard!!! Where the hell are our priorities??? We treat our illegal immigrants and welfare abusers better than we treat the men and women who defend this country!!!

WHY IS THAT???

My husband has TriCare Prime, the kids and I have TriCare Standard, which means I have a 20% cost share which means we pay 20% of EVERYTHING, even AFTER my decutable is met, I pay for my prescriptions, and we don't have any vision care.

Yes, that is true! And disgraceful. Tricare is good but the welfare care covers more and moves faster. Its truly shameful

I would question your facts in this case.
I spent 31 years in the Army and found that on active duty and in retirement the Tri Care Prime Insurance was better than any commercial policy available at exorbitant costs. I never paid a dime in co-pays on Tri care, never was charged for any prescription, and received the best care including Cardiac care and specialized treatment for Service connected ailments. The place that I found abominable was the VA Hospitals and Clinics which were awash in the unemployed ex military and a lot of scummy people with all kinds of non-service connected issues.
I now work for a Government Heath agency that administers care to the public, and I see so many things that are not so great because of the overwhelming illegal alien population coming in for treatment of minor illnesses.
I think that we do an adequate job for the Military and we do way too much for the illegals. I would like to see this imbalance shift to the side of the military, but I for one have never had a complaint about the medical care I received from the Government using Tri care and the Military Hospitals.
Just stay far away from the VA.

Still complaining?

You had a similar question a couple of days ago, under a different name, didn't you?

Yes, spouses have to pay for glasses (even with Tricare Prime). Yes, we have co-pays.

So does every other working American. Tricare can be a pain sometimes, but so can EVERY insurance carrier. We have it pretty good with Tricare... our prescriptions are cheaper than most other Americans, our co-pays are lower, etc.

I don't care what welfare recipients get. I'd rather have my dignity than free eyeglasses.

Why on earth are you on TriCare standard??!! Prime pays 100% while standard has the deductable. Prime is free. The only drawback is that you have to see Dr.'s on base/post and then get referred off base. If you live more than 30 minutes from base/post, then you can see anyone you want. You need to switch to prime so you don't have to pay for visits.
