Ask SOME questions. Don't ask a lot of questions because then it just gets irritating, especially if he's really into the game. Otherwise, cheer when they do and pay attention to the game, not everything other than the game.

Then why are your going? Everybody is going to see your not having a good time, but the one thing you should do is ask alot of question during the game therefore at least you seem interested. Cheer when they cheer!

I am with you I am not a hug NBA fan but go to the game like you are. Don't dress up wear a pair of comfortable jeans and nice top. If you are old enough grab a beer and just roll with it. Of course make sure you know who you are suppose to be rooting for. Have fun with it!

cheer everytime he cheers and if he says that was a bad call then be like "yeah that was a ****ing bad call!"
seem like your into the game.
dont just sit there like a dead piece of meat, he will be totally turned off by that.
i like basketball games. love them actually.
once you get into youll enjoy it, especially NBA game! they are stars.
and dont be on your phone; its rude.
or telling him to be quiet; its embarassing.
or saying how cute the players are; its real rude.

if you dont know much about the game, get the guy to explain things to you. (will make him feel important) then just cheer when he does, relax and have a good time. its fun when you get into the game.

Get interested in the game yourself. Find out who is playing and pick a team you want to win. Or get him to explain the game to you.

try booing your dates favorite player every time he touches the ball... and cheer for the opposing team... when you don't really care for the game it will make it at least fun for you.... he may get a kick out of it too....
