Many things can cause headaches. If it gets worse or doesn't go away, call a Dr.
When serious conditions are ruled out, massage is in order. The therapist can work with you to identify possible causal or perpetuating factors and help suggest ways to help.
Headaches can be from tension in the muscles of the face, neck, shoulder and back.
Postures held for more than a minute can present headaches. It is more likely to cause pain if held for repetitive short durations or a single long duration. A computer monitor too low/high or off to one side can present issues.
A massage therapist can address the muscles of the occipital region and work their way out to other muscles which may refer pain into that region- Trigger Points.
Trigger points are "hyper"contracted muscles cells or fibers which produce pain patterns in other areas of the body or restrict joint range of motion. They are usually no bigger than a grain of rice but exquisitely tender when touched or activated.
Even if your headache has subsided, there will probably be residual pain or tenderness that you are potentially not aware of at the moment. When touched appropriately, they will feel like the headache. As they relax, the pain subsides. Follow it with a gentle stretch and you should be feeling a bit better. Two or three short sessions should be able to address the pain and and associated tension.

3 straight days is nothing to worry about. If you continue to have headaches more then three days then that is when you can go and see your Dr. Unless it is keeping you from work and what you love to do call your Dr.'s office and see if you can get in earlier. They would know best of what to do. But usually its not until after a week can they really determine to do anything.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck.
Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

You might have stretched a neck muscle. You should ice it for 15 minutes then apply a heat for another 15 minutes. Do that 3-5 times a day for 2 days and see how you feel. If you don't feel better by then, see a doctor. You want to rule out meningitis......good luck!

I suggest you go see a chiropractor. Only a doctor can diagnose you after taking a full history and doing physical exams.
