Actually, yeah, that's a lot of crap to have to shovel. However, it would still be possible. There are many variations on animals today that probably didn't exist back then. In addition, larger animals such as dinosaurs, elephants, etc. could have been taken onto the ark as very young animals. In fact, it most likely would have been very young animals, because they would live longer.
It can sound a bit fantastic, but one must remember that three cultures record the event of the flood and the ark, three cultures that had little contact with each other. The flood also provides the only realistic explanation for the continental drift.

I think it is based on flood that may have happened in the Mediterranean a few thousand years ago...probably during the end of the last ice age. The story was clearly changed after thousands of years of oral retelling of the story, like the game telephone, until it was written down in the old testament. I'm sure the moral of the story is probably about holding onto tradition through natural disaster. Religion should not be taken literally, it is symbolic. People are stupid so they swallow this crap literally...They would believe in a god that is made out of string cheese if there was some lingering pathological explanation they could swallow. One thing is for sure, if there were a god he would not accept these people because they are too weak minded to comprehend even the smallest details about the true nature of reality.

A global flood was proven impossible long ago. There is only so much water in our atmosphere. Now I, a student of the Bible, realize that the text says something(probably geysers) under the sea busted open, but even with all the water in the earths crust we would still not have enough water.
Another option is a giant comet, which carry large amount of water, but again, not even close to enough H20, and our planet would be immensely damaged.
Lets say God just made the water appear, and then made it all vanish from our atmosphere. With the amount of water it would take to flood the earth above the Himalayas, approximately 4 times the water presently on earth, a person would literally drown instantly, only by breathing in the air!
Another thing that raises a flag is that the scriptures say the ark was made solely out of wood. This in itself is not the problem, as most of the boats of the time were. The measurements were given pointing to an ark nearly the size of the titanic. A boat this size made solely wood would have cracked and sunk in the water within minutes, even with no cargo.
The brains of fundamentalists are clinically dead.

No its a fact... The answer to your third question is the animals probably hibernated so Noah would be free of chores...
We may have found it somewhere in the mid east. Discovered by Dr. Bob Cornuke but not yet varified as the Ark because (its frozen).

I am not sure if you are a Bible reader or not, but the fact of FLOOD can not be clarified without consulting the Bible. I also had similar questions and i decided to read and find out for myself th truth behin it. If you believe in the bible here we go with proofs that the flood was real:
THE EXTENT OF THE FLOOD (Gen. 7:2; 8:9; 6:17; 7:6).
While I accept the biblical record that Noah's flood covered the entire earth, yet there are views that suggest that the Flood, in reality, was only a local event. But those views are not justified.Infact,These verses tell us that the waters of the Flood covered "the face of the whole earth".
THE UNIVERSAL NATURE OF THE FLOOD (Gen. 1-11; 6:5-7, 11-13; 1 Pet. 3:20).
A central theme that runs throughout the first eleven chapters of Genesis is their universal context. Indeed, a key point in the Creation story is that God (as opposed to the false Mesopotamian gods) made everything. The Flood was a universal judgment to a universal problem of wickedness that had spread throughout the earth.
Think it through: The enormous size of the ark, the height of the mountains that the Flood waters covered, and the huge collection of animals contradict a local flood theory and affirm the truth of God's Word. How does the belief in a worldwide flood affirm your Christian life?
THE FLOOD'S EFFECT ON THE EARTH (Gen. 7:4, 11, 12, 17-23).
Even for those who accept the biblical teaching that the Flood was a worldwide cataclysmic event, there is a tendency to underestimate the extent of its power and destruction. It is easy to envision the Flood as simply being a situation where lots of rain fell from heaven, the water got very deep, and everything drowned. If the Bible is accurate in its portrayal, however, the forces involved are beyond imagination. No modem comparisons even begin to explain either the processes or the results of what the Bible depicts. "Water appeared to come from the clouds in mighty cataracts. Rivers broke away from their boundaries, and overflowed the valleys. Jets of water burst from the earth with indescribable force, throwing massive rocks hundreds of feet into the air, and these, in falling, buried themselves deep in the ground."
How did the Flood's destruction affect humans and land animals? Was marine life affected? Gen. 7:21-23.
"The entire surface of the earth was changed at the Flood. A third dreadful curse rested upon it in consequence of sin. As the water began to subside, the hills and mountains were surrounded by a vast, turbid sea. Everywhere were strewn the dead bodies of men and beasts.... The earth presented an appearance of confusion and desolation impossible to describe. The mountains, once so beautiful in their perfect symmetry, had become broken and irregular. Stones, ledges, and ragged rocks were now scattered upon the surface of the earth."
Today, not surprisingly, most scientists, leaning on their belief in the "laws of nature," would deny the possibility of a worldwide flood. Even within the community of believers the idea of a worldwide flood has been increasingly questioned. In Noah's day, "philosophers declared that it was impossible for the world to be destroyed by water; so now there are men of science who endeavor to show that the world cannot be destroyed by fire—that this would be inconsistent with the laws of nature."
THE BIBLICAL FLOOD AND MODERN GEOLOGY (John 1:1-4, 14; Rom. 5:12-14; 8:19-22; 2 Pet. 3:3-7).
How important is the universal Flood for shedding light on the fossil record, which, according to most evolutionists, represents millions of years before humans first appeared on the earth? John 1:1-4, 14; Rom. 5:12-14; 8:19-22; 2 Pet. 3:3-7.
In the history of the Flood, inspiration has explained that which geology alone could never fathom. In the days of Noah, men, animals, and trees, many times larger than now exist, were buried, and thus preserved as an evidence to later generations that the antediluvians perished by a flood. God designed that the discovery of these things should establish faith in inspired history; but men, with their vain reasoning, fall into the same error as did the people before the Flood-the things which God gave them as a benefit they turn into a curse by making a wrong use of them.
When great and wise men had proved to their satisfaction that it was impossible for the world to be destroyed by water, when the fears of the people were quieted, when all regarded Noah's prophecy as a delusion, and looked upon him as a fanatic-then it was that God's time had come. ... When the reasoning of philosophy has banished the fear of God's judgments; when religious teachers are pointing forward to long ages of peace and prosperity, and the world are absorbed in their rounds of business and pleasure, planting and building, feasting and merrymaking ... then it is that sudden destruction cometh upon them, and they shall not escape. 1 Thessalonians 5:3.
According to my point of view,The Bible teaches that the entire world was destroyed by Noah's flood—this flood not only was historical but serves as a type for the reality of the judgment to come. The certainty of the first judgment is a confirmation of the final one. While the impending judgment of the world is serious and near, God has again graciously provided a way of escape. God wants us to proclaim the imminence of both this judgment and the way of salvation.

perfect answer. Actually there was a huge flood a thousand some odd years ago, I'll do more research if you care. but in the same time period the greeks believed Zeus sent a meteor to earth to banish the "bronze age" as they called it. The flood really happened and I'm sure some form of the arc was too. It was just exaggerated like all religions love to do.

Christians the World over can now begin to celebrate a new feat for their religion, the only true religion on Earth that is actually not a religion but a personal relationship with Jesus.
For many years now, Atheists and other God haters have dedicated themselves to disproving the Bible, in infaliable Word of God that came directly from God's hand, by claiming that many of the stories within the Bible were fables and could not be possible. Thanks to Satelite technology developed by Scientists, most of whom are in fact Christian as it is the majority Religion in the United States representing well over 90% of the population, and owned by T.B.N. and C.B.N., God's primary TV networks, we can put the claim that "Noah's Ark is a myth and a fable" to rest! We now have irrefutable evidence, undeniable, absolute evidence, that the Ark not only existed but does in fact still exist in it's resting place on top of Mount Ararat! This new discovery proves once and for all that Noah existed, the Global Flood was real, and that Christians are right about God and are God's one and only religion!
N.A.S.A. was contacted shortly after the satelite photos were taken and asked for comment. One of the Christian scientists there said, "We knew all along it was there, but the god haters who are in charge didn't allow us to talk about it". Then when we asked to speak to his supervisor, he said that his supervisor was too busy to talk. Later, when we called back and pretended to be a relative, the supervisor came to the phone. We asked, "So, what do you think of the new evidence that proves Noah's Ark to be real and to be at it's resting place on Mount Ararat"? He replied, "Well, I'd have to examine any claimed evidence for myself. Also, we've watch the mountain periodically and never saw anything that even slightly resembled a ship of any kind". He is obviously in denial and a God hater who is either an Athiest...or, or else in a cult of some type like the Agnostics. One only needs to look at the evidence with an open mind to see that it is in fact Noah's Ark. It cannot be refuted. It cannot be denied. Without a doubt, Noah's Ark is in the photograph.
Today, in light of the new evidence, we plan to arrange a meeting with the S.B.C. in order to push for a new bill from President Bush, God's chosen leader of the United States, to require conversional methods to be introduced to the public school systems here in the U.S. We are hoping that a clause will be added requiring any adults who refuse to convert to christianity to forfeit their citizenship and leave the country.
