Truth be told it's because the Bible is crap. God would not make everyone as they are, gay or straight & then tell them to write in a book that he made a mistake. The smart ones like you & me know that, as for the others they'll learn in time

Good question. The one thing God wrote, Moses shattered to pieces !!! Hmmm ..the Bible as it comes to we Protestants is 66 books, there are a bunch (about 12, 13 that the catholic church includes and the protestants reject)...

The idea is: God 'inspired' a few men to write down their history, the history of the world and ONLY the main things that God wanted men to know about in order to Know About Him.

When you do that kind of thing, just like before cable TV, and you have an antenna picking up signals, you get a lot of interference...a lot of static ..and some miscommunications....add to that that it was written over a period of hundreds of years...and copied and transposed and translated..and things can get a tad confusing.

But, hey, nothing is new under the sun!! The koran was dictated to mohammad's secretary....because mohammad was not able to write or read !! The difference is: it is one book, purportedly 'the voice of god'. (period)

You will not hear of a moslem questioning the koran..it simply is NOT done !! We Christians, on the other hand, have a Bible that can be taken completely literally (which is an error) or can be taken totally as symbolic guideposts (which is also an error). Therefore, it requires study and analytic thinking and discrimination and actual living to discern the ways of God. I hope this helps 'inspire' you/others to 'go digging' for more information and Truth.

Who better to talk to the sick then one who is afflicted by the same disease? The bible was written with a LOT of lessons in it of people messing up stuff. Honestly, if you were going to write a book about the things you did, wouldnt you try to make yourself sound good? Well the bible doesn't do that. Plenty of times the very author of that book puts in the mistakes they made and what came of them.

He DID write the 10 commandments, from which a lot of the laws we observe today stem from in some form or another. It's against the law to steal, we look down on those who lie or commit adultery, murder is obviously wrong. Few examples of what I mean.

He had his people write it that we might better understand what was being said. A lot of the bible is stories of what happened before and why things went wrong where they did. Those things were pretty much because they did not obey what they were told to do. It's a history lesson on man's rebellion from God and how many times He has given man a chance to repent and return. These warnings and the number of times will later become important when the tribulation begins and those events are used against man for his hardness of heart. He shows us time and again man would disobey, THAT is why he had man write it. It's a God inspired message BY man telling us how often we messed up before and will continue to do so without Him to guide us.

You honestly think you would believe it if God himself wrote it? How would you know if God wrote it if it was done over 2 thousand years ago? To you it's just a book, you can't prove or disprove who it was written by, it takes a step of faith in His direction. That's the whole point, you see it, take a step of faith, and all the blessings of it are given to you.

It is written (in the bible) that God spoke the 10 commandments to the people He had miraculously delivered from Egyptian bondage.

The people were sore afraid, & told Moses to go up the mountain & get it from God for them. They were afraid of the Spoken Word of God. I am sure this hurt Gods feelings.

But Moses went up the mountain and God wrote the Commandmens with His own finger on two tablets of stone. Moses went down and broke the tablets in anger because the people wore worshipping this golden calf they said was the God who delivered them.

So, Moses had to go back up the mountain and get two new tablets written by Gods finger on stone, that was put in the future "Arc of the Covenant".

So, Moses wrote the first 5 books of the Old Testament (Torah) in Hebrew scrolls. Jesus confirmed the books of Moses when He walked the earth.

After the mountain incident. God spoke through the Prophet of the LORD God to the people. The Prophet is one who God gave vision & dreams to and interpretations of those visions & dreams. A Prophet has to be tested if it is truly of the LORD God. So the Prophet wrote books that are in the bible. Everyone who wrote a bible book was a true Prophet of the LORD God.

Jesus is the Greatest Prophet in that He fulfilled the Prophecy and spoke to John in a vision the book of Revelation. That is the final and past the final to the new heaven and new earth.

In the New Covenant, through faith in Jesus Christ Redeeming blood, there is an office of the Prophet and the 5 fold ministry. Then there are gifts of prophecy given to the body of Christ for edification or encouraging word.

God works through His Body. So, believers who heard God tell them to write it. In the New Testament are also letters to Churches, and are Holy Spirit inspired.

The Bible is the be responsive to God needless to say,using fact the Towrat ( jewish e book) seen and concept the people to maintain on with Jesus 'peace be upon him' and interior the direction of the Bible you will locate many teachings approximately existence, very much inspired via God to Jesus.. on a similar time as as Jesus and the Bible itself concept with regards to the advent of Prophet Muhammed which became seen interior the 'unique Bible' wrote on the time of Jesus, no longer interior the recent testment we study on the instant. data: the recent testments have been written after the days of Christ via some years, u could have a examine. and finally, u can evaluate that the present Bible isn't totally one hundred% the be responsive to God, as a actuality that trinity refuses the oneness of God claiming God to be the daddy,Jesus and the Holy spirit = 3 on a similar time as as mom Marry herself prayed for the only a million God above yet no longer for jesus. historic Bible is stable and Jesus is a Prophet . I could give you a bunch of what any holy ruler would here, telling you things like....he gave us dominion, and about the ignorance of miracles as opposed to the lesson imposed by faith over flaunting them, and blah, blah, blah, but the fact is, as for myself, anybody can choose to believe in the bible verse for verse if they like, and cast out anyone whom doesn't, but I can relate to where you're coming from.
You can read it and have more questions than answers, and who's to say....what came first the chicken or the egg.
If you believe in God, great, if not, that's okay too.
The biggest question I have is... how if being Christian is the only religion to be, why do christians do so many things that are completely contradictory to what God wants...as it says...
I don't remember reading anything about....be predjudice...use scare tactics...hate.
I believe in my own God...and if it's not in the right way, atleast HE knows I have faith and I try ...TRY to do right.
How about the dinosaurs?
Cavemen?
You shouldn't get divorced even if your beaten half to death or you're banned and going to Hell
going to Hell if you aren't baptised
or are of another belief.....I don't think any of these things are very Godly...and I think stories, even those in the bible....are an interpretation at best, from man, and if it's based on man's telling, well you know how that goes

Actually your in little danger...:)
Asking such a question brings more questions; religious types simply "believe" and bury their heads in the sand calling it faith; nice to see people asking the right questions.

The bible is the words of many "believers" God cannot be defined by our language as we tend to make God into a symbolic form of "power" or "all knowing" and "all powerfull"; notice how historically we make "God" into a "leader" with "power" ; the history line is all the same all along with All religions; yet, the new and old testimates are but 2000-2500 years old, yet, we have been around as a walking species for 65000 years, or more; it gets deeper than that,
Religions, In my mind, are placed there to explain the world absent science or to give guidence; Gods word? Hardly.
I suppose, as a species, it is nice to blame God for all the wrongs we created ourselves; as a species, we fail to evolve well due to this placing the blame game on "God" as we are responsible; which leaves the question "who is God"?

In closing, I would submit : why must "GOD BE" at all?

We posses the ability to creat ourselves, thus, we creat God as a singular being, all knowing yada-yada...yet, God would certainly be "more than the sum of all that is", even based on Catholic religion that places God as creator.
God is neither man-woman, or even One, but more than and All, would best describe God , in English.

The Bible is the inspired word of God. He wrote it using human hands, but it is HIS message.

God used human hands to write the Bible and add historical facts and people in order to prove Christianity's validity. If humans did not write the Bible, there would be no personal, historical, or real-life instances of Jesus Christ.

In the New Testament, there were numerous accounts of personal encounters with Christ, miracles, buildings, laws, and traditions. Without this tiny bit of history provided by the human authors, Christianity would not exist.
People will not have blind faith for 2000 years, and not realize it.

Read the Bible and see for yourself all the historical facts. They are true. Archeologists are uncovering them constantly. They help people to believe the Bible's validity. (in case faith is not enough for them)

People are rational creatures. We will take the route that makes the most sense. As soon as more people can see the Bible's worth and ligitimacy, more people will believe in Christianity

By His own hand, God inscripted the 10 Commandments on the tablets of stone for Moses.
And Moses busted them when he returned down from the mountain and saw the Children of Israel conducting themselves in immoral acts.

So, maybe God figured that if this is how we humans treat what He hand wrote to us that....

Do you suppose:
That if the original manuscripts were indeed handwritten by God, that those with whom these documents were entrusted to, that they would treat these documents as HOLY, set them up as IDOLS for worship? Perhaps God knew that if mankind had something He had personally written, that people would be drawn to WORSHIP them? Put them up as holy icons for worship?

Who are we to 2nd-guess the Creator of All Creation? If He wants something one way, why do we stir up the waters and want it another way or question His judgement? How dare the clay question the Potter?

Just my opinion...

Think of the people as the pens that God used to write with. First he filled them with the ink of life's experiences, and his Holy Spirit. Then he wrote through them. Otherwise people would say "Big deal, God up there, why don't you come down in our shoes and live it!" Which He did in Jesus Christ.

The Love of God
The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star, and reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care. God gave his Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled, and pardoned from this sin.
O love of God how rich and pure! how measureless and strong!
It shall forever more endure. The saint's and angels song!

When years of time shall pass away, and earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men who here refuse to pray, On rocks and hills and mountains call,
God's love so sure shall still endure, All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam's race The saint's and angels song.

Could we with ink the ocean fill, And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill, And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole, Tho stretched from sky to sky.

O love of God how rich and pure! how measureless and strong!
It shall forever more endure. The saint's and angels song!
