yes, mentos and DIET coke explode the best though. (and the microwave jaw breaker explodes too. but don't try it you'll loose your face)

No, I used to be a cola addicted and I when I ate Mentos and drank Coke nothing unusual happened.

It appears that the candy causes the CO2 dissolved in soda to come out rapidly.

Yep, I saw it on Mythbusters too. The candy coated ones didn't work, so make sure you buy the right ones.
