Why are you saying "yeah me too" . Nobody said tattoos were keeping them from getting friends and jobs. Maybe it is you that is stopping yourself from getting friends and jobs. I have tattoos and I have lots of friends and a good job. All of my friends with tattoos have jobs and have friends.

Most of my friends (including my husband) are not tattooed, but the fact that I am has never been an issue.

I never got turned down for a job because of my tattoos either. I currently have 3 tattoos, going in for my 4th in 2 weeks.

No.

Thankfully I was smart enough to get my tattoos done on parts of my body that aren't readily visible. I work in a fairly conservative office that while tattoos aren't exactly forbidden, it's not something that everyone wants to see. The only tattoo that I have that might be seen is on the inside of my left ankle and the only time someone might see it is in the summer if I wear a skirt.

Most of my friends are inked, so that's never been an issue, but I did end up breaking up with someone I was dating over them. After we started seeing each other I decided to let him know that have tattoos since our relationship seemed to be moving in a postive direction. His response? "I don't like tattoos, especially on women." Well, that was the end of that because they weren't going anywhere!

Errmmmm... no!

Why would I want friends who looked down on me because of my tattoos? They sound like pretty dull and narrow-minded people, in any case, so I doubt I'd want to know them anyway.

And, jobs - I suppose if I were after a job in McDonalds or somewhere, where they made me wear a nasty nylon uniform with short sleeves, then maybe it'd be an issue. But since I have a grown-up job, why would it be an issue? My employers don't care about my tattoos being visible, and if they did I could easily wear clothes that cover them.

If my friends can't accept me the way that I am, eight tattoos and all, they can hit the road, I don't want them as friends. As for work, most of my ink doesn't show, but when it does, there's no problem with my tattoos.

I actually have a pretty friggn sweet bunch of friends. Some are lurking around this forum. As far as jobs go, I am doing well. Carry yourself well, and work on your social skills. If you are having trouble finding work you should look into a new trade, or get some help with resume writing. Good luck.

No I have no problems. Half my friends have tattoos & mine is where I can hide it for work. A few of my coworkers know about my tattoo & actually think it's pretty neat.....probably cause it's a simple rose (for my name). One of the ladies I work w/ actually has her belly button pierced so yea she definitely doesn't have a problem. I was actually talking about my ideas for more tattoos w/ her the other day.

nope..i thought them out and put them where i can contain them whey i need to...and for people that say that a full sleeve or even half sleeve ruins thier chances for a good job i have 3 words for you:

long sleeve shirts

hey look...If your applying to be Hallmark Cards District Manager and you have "killer" tatted on your neck..you may not get the job...lol.....

but all up the arms , the back, legs etc etc..they dont need to know...just wear really nice business clothes and be the most sharply dressed person up there.
