If you really love the guy, then don't call it quits. If ya'll are really in love with each other, stay together. Ask the guy about the whole situation, ask him what he wants to do. If he wants to call it quits, then tell him how you feel about him and ask him if that's really what he wants. Try working on a solution together.

Yes he obviously dosnt care about you that much to do that to you 8 times. Even if you really like him dont do this to your self. Hes NOT worth it.

yes, dating on and off never turns out well. get out of it and find someone who won't break up with you every couple weeks.
