green tea is a great drink when you are trying to lose weight. as long as you eat healthy, get some exercise , and avoid those junk foods, you'll reap the benefits of green tea. As a side note, don't just stick to green tea, there are so many teas out there that taste great and are low calorie.

some exampels are white tea, chai teas, herbal teas, etc..

Yes it does help, but not as much as many people make out to be.

A tea weight loss study conducted Dr Dulloo in the University of Geneva found that drinking a green tea extract beverage three times a day increases energy expenditure by 4%.

Is 4% too small to make any difference?

If you burn 2,000 calorie a day, this translates to 80 calories, roughly the same amount of calories in a small banana. It is no magic bullet.

But increasing metabolism is not the only way green tea helps lose weight. It also promotes fat burning and reduces absorption and storage of fat. The sum total of these actions has not yet been quantified, but is likely to be significant.

It is not just 4%, but something greater.

It is best to drink green tea for its overall health benefits, taking weight loss as a bonus.

The best way to lose weight is to combine green tea diet with an exercise. See second link on how green tea helps boost your exercise performance.

Drinking green tea helps you burn more fat during exercise!

Hope it helps.
