What does your doctor say? Your doctor can recommend which would be the most appropriate since they examined you and know your situation.

Why choose? Find a chiropractor that can do both. Many chiropractors combine massage therapy, physical therapy, nutrition/wellness, and rehab with chiropractic care. I don't know what you mean by "butchers," but an adjustment might temporarily aggravate it. After a while and a series of adjustments and muscle work it should get better. Discuss it with a chiropractor and your primary care physician, but do realize that most physicians are wary of any treatment that doesn’t involve medication or surgery. I've been under chiropratic care for my neck, lower back, and right foot since October. Overall I've had a very positive experience.

I suggest you see a chiropractor. There are many different causes of back pain and only a doctor can diagnose you after taking a history and doing physical exams. However, the most common cause of back pain is biomechanical and can be treated by a chiropractor. There are hundreds of diffferent techniques and not all chiropractors practice the same way. While the main treatment should include spinal adjusting, many chiropractors are also trained in physiotherapy and can treat you with passive therapies such as muscle stim, heat, cold laser therapy, or can give you active therapy such as stretching and exercise.

You sound like you definitely have a misalignment in the middle of your back.

A buddy can squeeze your back gently and make it pop somewhat.

But I would suggest a Chiropractor is who you need. They do not use surgical instruments. NO BUTCHERY GOES ON.

They merely adjust your spinal alignment to make you feel well. I have gone to Chiropractor monthly for 59 years and am alive and well. They have solved many many painful misalignment's for me.
