I speak English, Esperanto, Spanish, and German, Esperanto was far easier to learn than any of the others, and it opened the world to me. I've had conversations with people from every continent, and every country, and I only had to learn the easiest language on earth to do so.

You might ask, why is Esperanto easier to learn than any of the other languages? It's because it is a language designed to be easier to learn than any national language. Most of the time spent studying a foreign language is spent learning the irregularities and rule exceptions ("I before E except after C", " 'sheep' is both singular and plural", etc). Esperanto has only 16 gramatical rules, and no exceptions to any of the rules.

Many people also ask, "Does anyone speak Esperanto? How can I practice it?" Well Esperanto is spoken by an estimated two million people world wide, and it's now growing because of the internet. It's the most widely spoken constructed auxiliary language, with the largest body of literature, music and even a few movies.

And yes, you can travel with Esperanto. To find out how, read this article in Wikipedia about the Esperanto "Pasporta Servo" (Passport Service):

Esperanto.
It's specifically designed to be grasped in a matter of months.

No language is really easy or hard --- it's just a matter of how close the language is to yours.
Examples: English is related to German and acquired a huge amount of French vocabulary -- so the easiest languages for an English speaker to learn are French and German.
An Italian can learn to speak Spanish fluently in about 6 months.
Should an Arab decide to learn Hebrew, he can learn it much faster than English (both languages are distantly related).

I would definetly say spanish. Spanish is my mother tongue but in high school i had to take a spanish class. The fist language of the majority of students in that class was english but they all learned spanish really quickly. They actually enjoyed that class, because learning spanish is easy. And many spanish words are similar to words of the english language.

Considering you have a problem with English now, I'd stick with that and perfect it first before moving on to Spanish which is relatively easy. You may have to learn Spanish as a second language for self-protection from all the illegal immigrants from Mexico!

Esperanto, it only has 16 grammatical rules and is based in common languages used world wide... is really interesting and is called the world language.
I speak English and learning Portuguese but my native language is Spanish for me is easy to learn Portuguese because is similar with Spanish. the key is to pic a language that has something in common with the one you already speak, that way it will be easier to learn.

SPANISH!!!

English is very hard for people who don't speak it as their native language. There are a lot of exceptions in English. I's easy for you because it's most likely your native tongue.
