is it bad if a guy downgrades his job but tells you on the first date he lied about it?

this guy i met told me his position was a bus driver...turns out he's law enforcement...why did he lie about something like that?is that bad news?

he fessed up when he met you though,.... and maybe he thought it would sound corny and unbelievable (yeah baby i'm a cop) - do u have any idea how many firemen and lawyers i've met online.... never once met a mc donalds burger flipper.
