I would have to agree with you on this. We also still have troops in Kosovo. If we leave, they'll only be invaded by another country.

Probably after a new democrat goverment begins. But there's no way out. If US leave iraq anyone will overthrow the puppet and weak goverment of iraq as the goverment of south vietnam was overthrow. We'll se again a evacuation of the green zone as we saw the Saigon embassy. Surely Iran will be the main power of the region after that. If the republicans stay in goverment in goverment well probably US stay another 4 years in Iraq well at least auntil the deficit begins to cut all social programs of US and the army couldn't be improve and rearmed. If US stay there their economy wil decreace with severity in the next 10 years and finally China and the european Union will be the new motors of the world economy. The US armed forces are near of their limits thay cant response to another conflict, if China wants to take Taiwan this is the moment. The Bush goverment and the next goverment must rise the taxes to control the deficit if they dont do that the end of the US economic supremacy in the next corner. You cant fight and keep an army of that cost without increase the taxes and US is near of the limit. In the other hand the insurgency have unlimited resourses fron Siria and Iran that are the intermedia for the resourrses fron Russia and China, the last one can keep fighting the resistance for decades until US fell exhausted losing. The US have to made this the less negative posible. If they stay the will loose money and blood until lose their world status if they go out they lose the control of the oil market to the russian and Chinese companies.Who cares when the only truth is that US lose. The only thing is that the new goverment avoid that the defeat becomes the battle of hadrianople of the US. USA needs kissinger in the office again

Americans are shortsighted and President Bush is also. They are both shortsighted in bad but different ways. American people only feel the urge to respond if we get attacked directly sadly. President Bush failed to see that Saddam could keep Iran in check. Saddam only had a huge bloody civil war against Iran because he feared the spread of Islamic Theocracy. uhhh yea so let's attack the guy and let Iran spread it's influence. That made a lot of sense. We will leave whenever some politician can't take the heat anymore and I wouldn't blame anyone for pulling us out.. That's what our people want so let's do it. They will learn if it was a mistake in the future or not.

While its possible that something monumentous could happen like congress cutting off all funding.
However, I don't think we will completely leave Iraq until the oil is gone.
We won't have the majority of our troops out of there until the goal is acomplished. The goal being the establishment of a client state in Iraq which is strictly aligned with USA business interests in regards to the natural resources in the country.

US troops will never leave Iraq. This is the price the Arabs have to pay for letting Osama Bin Laden run loose for so long and allowing him to plan and execute the attact on the US.
US troops will stay forever to act as a magnet that draws the Islamic militants into Iraq for the US troops to kill.

I think we will leave Iraq the minute George W. Bush is no longer president and he cant use our troops for his own personal and financial battles.

When we finish the damn job. That sounds good to me. Sound good to you?
I like Iraq being a sponge for terrorists. Keeps America safe.
Why cant people understand that? If we leave Iraq, America will be targetted, not us in Iraq.

Right. A dem president will probably not let us finish this now.
Then it will be our children or grandchildren going back. Again.
We need to get the job done now.
