It matters WHAT you eat in your salad.
Are you eating iceberg lettuce? Try again. Zero value.
Are you eating spinach? Great for you!
It's also how much other stuff you put in and how big of a salad it is. Just like with anything, salads in moderation are healthy. If you use a non-fat dressing, carrots, and greens then you're going to be consuming a better meal than a fatty dressing, bacon, cheese, etc.

Veggie and/ or salads are the best thing you can eat. They have the essential vitamins and fibers you need in your diet and they help your digestive system. And if you add a bit of chicken, turkey or other meat you have a well balanced meal. Now the salad should be made form fresh veggies and becareful with salad dressing. Low fat or even none is the best. Take a look at the nutritional recommendations and you will see veggies are the main thing you should be eating on a daily basis. And if you don't eat a lot of veggies make sure that you take a vitamin supplement daily in order to get your daily values of vitamins and amino acids.
Where ever your friend go their information form needs to stop and think before they talk about things they don't know before someone gets sick or hurt!

It depends on what kind of salad you are having and what you put on it!!
Here is a recepie for you:
Organic or Regular veggies are fine!!!
Romain Lettuce
Red leaf Lettuce
Spinach
Dandellion Greens or Red it does not taste as good!
*if you like spicey salads add Mustard greens.
Tomatoes
Beets
Carrotts
Radishes
the more colorful the best......and the darker on green leafey veggestables the best as well!!!!!
* if you are interested in calcium rich veggies add kale (dinosaur kale is the most calcium rich veggie from what I hear but have not compared it to other veggies just yet!).
In a separate bowl mix the following for a good dressing:
1 table spoon of Olive oil
1 table spoon of Lemon Juice
1 Tea spoon of Amino Acids (Bragg's is the best I have found)
&
to taste Apple Cider Vinegar
I hope you like this salad over any other you have ever eaten!!
By the way ask your husband, boyfriend, or male friends you have something else with or all the above to see what is the difference while in bed!!!
Hope you enjoy the salad as much as anything else you try and like that you get out of this salad!!!!!!

that depends what you consider to be a salad. Your friend is somewhat correct if you only consider things like iceberg lettuce which is heavily based on waters and has some nutrients in it but not much. However, salad usually consists of a blend of vegatables, and even other leafy greens aare very good for you. Eating a large bowl of salad without croutons and so forth is a lot better for you than eating a bowl of pasta. Salad can fill you up and provide you with a good amount of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.
Eating a salad is agood way to get your vegatables in, so you should eat salad and your friend should read a book and get educated.

Salad does have nutritional value IF it is more than iceberg lettuce. Iceberg lettuce has very little vitamins. Its just fiber and not very good fiber at that.
Salads with spinach and romaine lettuce with all sorts of things like cheese, chicken, tomatoes, celery, pasta, ham, bacon, etc. can all be VERY nutritious. It depends on what you put in the salad, and what kind of dressing you put on it. Any creamy dressing is fattening. Try vinegar and lemon juice. There are all kinds of salads out there to try. Salads are wonderful!

Of course a salad would have nutritional value. Just as long as you have vegetables, mushrooms, tomatoes etc.. But be aware what you put on there the type of dressing, cheese, and addtives like bacon, ham chicken(grilled is the best of course) They say a salad with the work topings can be as bad as a burger if your not careful of what you put on there. As for being nutritional thats like saying carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers have no nutrional value.

Salad is mostly filler and fiber if it's all lettuce. It's the other stuff that adds to it, like tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, tuna, chicken, cheese, etc. that makes it good for you. You can't just eat a lettuce salad everyday and expect to get all the proper vitamins and minerals you need, but since you get more food for fewer calories, it is a healthy alternative to eating french fries or other meals high in carbs.
I wouldn't say stop eating the salads, but remember to eat other things for other meals. One salad a day is a good way to get your roughage and the RDA of veggies.

Salad is actually very healthy and if you eat it at least once a day, without dressing, you can lose weight. The best kind of salad is the Cesar salad of McDonald's w/ or w/o chicken. But in all salads I know, they all include fruits or vegetables, so yes, salad is very good for you.

Salad can be a very good thing to eat provided it doesn't have too many of the wrong things in it. Be careful of fatty, high calorie dressings and things like that. Otherwise, you can get a portion of your daily recommended intake of vegetables from salad.

Salads are good for you. A salad drowned in a ton of dressing is not good for you. They say you should make two-thirds of your meal veggies so go ahead and eat your salad!!
