Well, if your heart tells you so, you should go for it. Afterall, some of the best relationships starts off as great friendships. Everyone's always saying how they're always looking for a friend in a partner, and this is one way to do it.
However, this statement should be taken with a grain of salt. There are consequences to consider. It may be that you two would fall in love, stay together forever and have children. But, like all things in life, there's a chance that it won't pan out like that. So, ask yourself: What would you do if you two ever broke up? Imagine how your last breakup went, and picture this relationship ending like that. Would you still be able to be close to him? Talk about the same things, do the same things? You need to weigh whether he is more important to you as your best friend, or as your boyfriend. Unfortunately, you probably won't be able to keep him as BOTH indefinitely.

I don't agree with some of the opnions here. Sometimes its hard to know if you love someone. Especially if the person is always around you. Only, of course none of us on YA will know either. But try this: Take a break from him for say, a month or two to get a flavor of what it would be like without him in your life. Maybe this will help you find whether you really love him or not. But remember, only you can know for sure if you love him or not.

I would give it some time, don't panic about these new feelings. Time will help you figure out how you really feel and it could turn into love... or just stay a close friendship. I don't think i would be able to live without a few of my guys friends, and i do love them, just not in a relationship way, more like a brother.

I think that's awesome! Of course it's ok, and yes it's going to seem like its happening so fast!! As long as the feeling is mutual then you guys are great! Make sure the line of communication is always open, and keep things interesting!! Good luck!

that kind of thing happens to everybody. he's become more because he's a friend that you are afraid of losing or going away. sounds like you like ur friendship too much to let other people get involved. sometimes its a phase, people go thru that sometime in their life. just tell him how you feel and see where he wants to go with it. give it a chance and you may or may not actually feel the way you think.

falling for a friend is very normal but its hard to tell if its true love. You could just feel this way because your so close to him or it could be Puppy love which is very easy to mistake for really love. I can't tell you the answer for this because only you know how you really feel sorry

I'm in xactly the same situation. My m8 & I hav had a "benefits" relationship solidly for the last 3 yrs as we've been living together. But I'v fallen for him (as you can imagine, girls r incapable of staying un-attatched). I told him this after cooking dinner for his Mum & My Dad as it was his b'day. After tidying up after they left we sat there talking & I told him I'd fallen for him, & he laughed @ me. Luckily our friendship is so strong that nothing happened. Then I ended our "benefits" relationship cos I'm getting to want someone to want me.

Picture him with another girl. If you reckon you would feel jealous then you love him. If you would feel happy for him then he is just a best friend.

I fell in love with my bestfriend and never let my feelings show. He married someone else because he never knew I felt for him what he felt for me. Don't let it slip away... Falling in love with your bestfriend could mean more happiness in your life then you know. You'll never know what your missing unless you give it a chance.
Good Luck!
