why do they seem to spend it to show off by building fancy buildings, lavish displays, and other wasteful spending that does nothing to better humanity?

I see that you have seen the light? The ruler of this world likes to impress people into believing they need these things in order to gain God's favor? See 2 Cor 11:13, Eph 6:10. God has nothing to do with these ones that you see. Just study the thoughts rather than just reading them, then you will see even more. gemhandy@hotmail.com

just because some people abuse it, doesn't mean you cant use it
-- yes some people go way out there with gold chairs decorated with rubies and diamonds - but not all churches.
